Torrington Thunder 16   Naugatuck White Sox 4

Torrington Thunder rolled to a 16-4 victory over a scrappy Naugatuck squad on Tuesday at Fuessenich Park. Naugatuck battled throughout the game, collecting four hits, drawing six walks, and swiping eight bases, but Torrington’s offense proved too much to overcome tonight. Robert Anton led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 performance, including a triple, double, and two singles, while Yadiel Santana added three hits and Kyle Gordon drove in four runs. New head coach Kyle Green records the first win of his Tri-State Career as the head honcho!

On the mound, Brady Doherty picked up the win, allowing three runs over 5⅔ innings while striking out six. Torrington totaled 10 hits, worked 13 walks, and stole 10 bases, highlighted by a seven-run fifth inning that helped put the game away. The Thunder now look ahead to Thursday’s matchup against the Sliders.

Amenia Monarchs 2   Tri-Town Trojans 1

Monarchs win a pitcher’s duel between Cam Redstone and Miles Scribner. Amenia got on the board early after back-to-back singles by Matt Damon and Colby Dunlop, followed by a passed ball that put Amenia up 1–0. The score remained 1–0 until Colby Bunnell lead off the 4th with triple on a long fly ball to the right center gap. He would later tie the game on an Amenia error. Colby Dunlop led off the sixth with a single, and two batters later, Kasey Moore hit an RBI to right field to put Amenia up 2–1, which would be the final score. Sam Foley robbed his cousin of a base hit with a diving play in right field to start the bottom of the seventh. Cam Redstone went the distance for the Monarchs, giving up five hits and striking out seven. Miles Scribner also threw a complete game, allowing one earned run while striking out 12 Monarchs. Austin Patenaude had the most success against Redstone from the leadoff spot, going 3-for-3 with a double.

Winsted Whalers 3  Canton Crushers 0

Casey Weingart started on the mound for the Whale. He threw the Whaler’s first shutout game of the year, going 7 innings allowing 0ER, 7 hits, 2 walks, and striking out 3. Maybe his “Acey” days aren’t over. Angel Christiano (who went 2-3 at the plate) started for the Crushers and was making the Whale offense look silly off his curve. Angel was scoreless up until the 5th inning when Jay Torres put one to the right field sheds, scoring a 2 run inside the park home run. Bottom 6th, Chet Warner, after striking out on the curve in his previous at-bat, singled into left scoring a runner from second, making the score 3-0. Top of 7, Mitchell Gryniuk in left field dropped a fly ball, which then lead to two more singles and bases loaded; Gryniuk is still learning how to run AND catch at the same time. Jake Bryant from the Crushers was one of those singles but because he decided to pick dandelions on his way to first, he couldn’t stretch an easy double and stayed at first. Luckily, Weingart would close the 7th out from there and that was game. Adam Wright would have 2/3rds of the Whale’s K’s for the game and Peter Greenwood might have the highest BA on the team, again, for the second year in a row. Whale 3, Crushers 0. The Whale also won competition #2 later on, details are under NDA.

Burlington Hunters 2    Wolcott Scrappers 0

The Burlington Hunters defeat the Wolcott Scrappers 2-0 in yet another pitcher’s duel.  This time Hunter’s Anthony Izzo faced off against Scrapper starter Aiden Basaillon.  Basaillon was saddled with the hard luck loss after surrounding just 1 unearned run in the first inning.  Basaillon logged 6 innings, scattered 4 hits while striking out 6.  For the Hunters, Izzo was dominant and flirted with a no-hitter, which was broken up in the top of the 6th when Ben Bianchi bunted for a base hit.  Izzo went the distance, punching out 16 to record the complete game shutout which has to be some kind of Tri-State record.  The Hunters are back in action Thursday for their home opener against the pesky Ducks while the Scrappers look to regroup at home against the red hot Winsted Whalers.

Game Highlights: Andrew Bunger was finally useful and got a hit; Tommaso Tollis DID NOT put on a show; Josue Sway Lopez is so strong he snapped a bat on a swing and miss; and Justin McCulloch made his 2026 Season debut marking his 85th year in the Tri-State League.

Bethlehem Plowboys 11   CT Sliders 0

The Plowboys won big over CT Sliders 11-0 on Tuesday at Municipal Stadium. The Plow jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after Ryan Ponte drew a walk, scoring one run, and Jesse Swartout doubled, scoring two runs. The team stayed hot and scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Dylan Chung singled, scoring two runs, Jon Wilson singled, scoring one run, Freddie Camp singled, scoring one run, and Swartout singled, scoring one run. Austin Brown earned the win for Plowboys. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Ryan  Glover took the loss for CT Sliders. The hurler went four innings, allowing nine hits, striking out three and walking three. Ryan Ponte with a non attached UCL threw one inning of scoreless ball for Plowboys in relief. The righty struck out all 3 batters he faced.  The Plow tallied nine hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Wilson led Plowboys with three hits in four at bats. Swartout and Camp each drove in three runs for Plowboys. Camp stole two bases. Plowboys ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. Tyler Decresenzo went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead CT Sliders in hits. Next up for the Plowboys is a game against the Naugatuck White Sox on Thursday.
