Monarchs come back to win on a walk-off single by Calab McCaul. Amenia’s pitching struggled early in the game, as Canton put up 3 runs in the first inning, followed by 2 more in both the 3rd and 4th innings. They also added another run in the 5th. Canton contributed 3 doubles by the team and a home run by Stev Dubois. Amenia responded by plating 2 runs in the 5th after a leadoff single by Collin Russell, followed by a triple from Lincoln Taylor. Matt Damon then singled to bring Taylor home. Later in the inning, Amenia tied the game at 8-8 after an RBI groundout by Damon. Following that, two Monarchs were hit by pitches, and four consecutive singles evened the score. In the bottom of the 7th, Zach Spencer recorded his first at-bat of the year and singled. A groundout moved his pinch runner to second, and an error advanced him to third. Calab McCaul then took an 0-2 pitch and lined a walk-off single to secure the win for the Monarchs 9-8. Colby Dunlop got the win going 2 innings with 3 strikeouts
The Burlington Hunters improve to 5-0 defeating the Valley Ducks 20-5. Ty Morin toed the slab for the first time in the 2026 season for the Hunters. After a rocky first inning giving up 3 runs, thanks in part to a long 2rbi double swatted by Nick Forino, Morin would settle in to earn the win surrendering 4 runs on the day while striking out 3. Multiple Hunters had strong days to help fuel the win. Steve Caruso and Ty Morin both drove in 4 runs each on multi-hit efforts, Jeff Osak had a 3 hit day including a double, and Zack Martin had a multi hit day and his first stolen base since 2010. For the Ducks, Nick Forino and Angel Torres had multi-hit games, both swatting RBI doubles. The Hunters look to continue their strong start to the season in a rematch against the Wolcott Scrappers this Sunday, while the Ducks look to rebound against the red-hot Amenia Monarchs.
