Amenia Monarchs 5 Torrington Thunder 1
Monarchs win 5–1 against Torrington Thunder. Colby Dunlop started for Amenia and delivered a strong performance, going 7 innings while striking out 13, and giving up 1 unearned run. Amenia’s Tyler Nolen had a big day, going 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBIs. He also pitched the final two innings to earn the win. Other Monarchs contributing at the plate included Colby Dunlop and Matt Damon, who each collected a hit. Calab McCaul went 0-for-0 with 4 walks and scored 2 runs. Candlewood Kraken 6 Valley Ducks 5
Despite seeing their 4-run lead whittled down by the end, Candlewood Kraken still held off for a 6-5 victory on Sunday. Valley Ducks closed the gap by scoring on a double play and an error. Mason Berna struck out 10 batters on the day. The pitcher also allowed three hits and one run over five innings while walking one. A double by Tommy Keough put Candlewood Kraken on the board in the top of the third. John McMahon singled down the right field line, which helped Valley Ducks tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
A single by Jake Coniglio gave Candlewood Kraken the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth. Tyler Pelletier stepped on the hill first for Valley Ducks. The starting pitcher allowed 15 hits and six runs over nine innings, striking out five and walking two. Luke Pliego and Ryan Bohrman each appeared in relief for Candlewood Kraken.
Candlewood Kraken tallied 15 hits in the game. Keough drove the middle of the lineup, leading Candlewood Kraken with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-5 on the day. Tri-Town Trojans 11 Canton Crushers 1
Willy Yahn collected three hits in five at bats, as Tri- Town Trojans defeated Canton Crushers 11-1 on Sunday at 39 Dyer Avenue. Yahn singled in the second inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Tri- Town Trojans opened the scoring in the first after Byron Carr singled, scoring two runs. Tri- Town Trojans added two runs in the second after Yahn singled. Tri- Town Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Casey McDonald flew out, and Joey Grantmeyer doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Bobby Chatfield started on the bump for Tri- Town Trojans. The lefty surrendered eight hits and one run over eight innings, striking out nine and walking one. Tri- Town Trojans accumulated 10 hits in the game. Jon McNeils and Yahn each collected three hits for Tri- Town Trojans. Carr, Coleby Bunnell, and Yahn each drove in two runs for Tri- Town Trojans. Luis Muller led Tri- Town Trojans with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. McNeils and Carr each stole multiple bases for Tri- Town Trojans. Tri- Town Trojans stole seven bases in the game. Tri- Town Trojans turned three double plays in the game. Tri- Town Trojans were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. McNeils had the most chances in the field with 11. Jake Bryant led Canton Crushers with one run batted in. Bryant went 2-for-3 on the day. Jimmy Spirito and Bryant each collected two hits for Canton Crushers.

Burlington Hunters 4 Bethlehem Plowboys 2
The Burlington Hunters defeated the Bethlehem Plow 4-2 in another pitchers duel. Hunters’ starter Derek Duffy squared off against Carsten Donovan of the Plow. Duffy would go 6 innings surrendering just 1 run on 7 hits while striking out 7. Donovan, who was perfect through the first 3 innings, logged 7 innings, surrendered 1 run on 3 hits while striking out 12.
The Plow took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd when Kyle Daddona scored on a Freddie Camp fielder’s choice. The Hunters would respond in the top of the 5th with a solo home run by Tim Krol to tie the game. In the top of the 7th, Josue “Sway” Lopez delivered a solo shot for the lead. In the bottom of the 8th the Plow would tie the game on a Jon Wilson RBI triple. In the top of the 9th the Hunters loaded the bases and Jeff Osak grabbed the lead with a 2-out 2 run single. Taylor Donofrio (3IP, 6K) would slam the door earning the win in relief despite doing his best to blow the game by hitting a batter to begin each inning. For the Plow, Nate Cormier had a strong game with a double and some nice plays on defense, and Jon Wilson had a 3 hit game including a triple.
Game Highlights: Andrew Bunger continues to be entirely useless at the plate, Tommaso Tollis put on a show, and the Hunter win over the Plow marks their first victory head to head since 2010 when former Hunter Dillon Desiderato smacked a go-ahead double in the 8th.
