Tri-Town Trojans 16   CT Sliders 3

Tri- Town Trojans won big over CT Sliders 16-3 on Saturday at Litchfield Community Field. Tri- Town Trojans got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Cooper Johnson doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored three runs. Tri- Town added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Willy Yahn grounded into a double play, and Johnson walked, each scoring one run. The Trojans scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. Yahn was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Coleby Bunnell drew a walk, scoring one run, Johnson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Danny McCarty singled, scoring three runs. Connor Gannon stepped on the hill first for Tri- Town Trojans. The hurler surrendered four hits and three runs (zero earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. McCarty and Johnson were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Tri- Town Trojans. Johnson went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Tri- Town Trojans in hits. Tri- Town Trojans had patience at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. McCarty, Jon McNeils, Matt Troy, and Bunnell led the team with two bases on balls each. Pat Smith and Josh Dobratz were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for CT Sliders. Dobratz went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead CT Sliders in hits. CT Sliders turned one double play in the game. Tri- Town Trojans welcome Torrington on Tuesday for their next game.

Canton Crushers 9   Waterbury Mountain Boys 5

Ben Sullivan collected three hits in four at bats, as Canton Crushers defeated Waterbury 9-5 on Saturday at Bowdoin Field. Sullivan singled in the seventh inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning. Canton Crushers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Steve Dubois doubled, scoring two runs, and Jimmy Spirito singled, scoring one run. A single by Spirito extended the Canton Crushers lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Waterbury made the score 5-4 in the top of the fourth after an error scored one run, and Dane Hassan homered to right field, scoring three runs. Canton  tied the game at five in the bottom of the fifth. A single by Ben Sullivan gave Canton the lead, 7-5, in the bottom of the seventh.

Nate Hiscox made his Season debut and  earned the win for the Crushers. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, Jimmy Spirito started the game for Canton. Canton accumulated 13 hits in the game. Steve Dubois drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Crushers with three runs batted in. And went 2-for-4, Jimmy Spirito collected two hits. Waterbury collected 9 hits in the game. Dane Hassan hit a 3 run home run. Canton Crushers travel to Winsted Whalers for their next game on Tuesday.
