Bethlehem Plowboys 6 Waterbury Mountain Boys 0
The Plowboys got back on track and defeated the Mountain Boys 6-0 on Sunday at the Plow as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Austin Brown and Johnny Nelson each pitched for the Plowboys in the game. Nelson induced a pop out to get the last out.
Nate Cormier collected three hits in four at bats in the win. Cormier doubled in the fourth inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the first inning. The Plow got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Cormier doubled down the right field line, and Ryan Ponte grounded out, each scoring one run.
Brown earned the win for Plowboys. The pitcher gave up six hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five and walking one. Justin Digiovanni took the loss for Mountain Boys. The starter went four innings, giving up six runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking three. Johnny Nelson collected the save for the Plow throwing 3 strong innings to shut it down. Cormier stole two bases. The Plowboys ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game. Zachary Droukas led the Mountain Boys with two hits in three at bats. Old friends of the Plow Colby Linnell and Connor Goggin also reached base twice. And don’t call it old timers day, but Jon Conlon, playing his now 20th season, went 1-3 on the day and Pat McGee reached base on a walk. Next up for the Plowboys is a game at the Valley Ducks on Thursday.

Burlington Hunters 19 CT Sliders 2
The Burlington Hunters get back in the win column defeating the CT Sliders 19-2. Derek Duffy earned the win on the mound scattering 5 hits over 5 innings while striking out 8. Every batter in the Hunter lineup recorded a hit on the day. Tim Krol, Josue “Sway” Lopez, Andrew Bunger, Jeff Osak, and Chad Lavelle all had multi-hit games. One of Lavelle’s hits was a grand slam that blew the game open. For the Sliders, Ryan Montini swatted a long opposite field solo shot in the first, and Player/Coach/GM Pat Smith had a strong day smacking 2 doubles. The Sliders look to rebound Monday and slow down the Candlewood Kraken while the Hunters look to keep things rolling Tuesday against the Torrington Thunder.
Game Highlights: Jake Rinkavage continues to be Mr. OPB adding 3 more walks and a hit to bring his number to .769 on the season; Ty Morin CAN play third base; and finally Taylor Donofrio missed the game supporting his Italian heritage a little too much at the Original Feast of St. Anthony in Bridgeport.
Canton Crushers 20 Naugatuck White Sox 7
The Crushers stay Hot as they defeat the Naugatuck Sox 20-7 Sunday night at Delgabbo field. Angel Christiano earned the win for the Crushers not only did he start the game he ended up coming back on the mound to finish the game after the Crushers bullpen couldn’t close it out. Christiano went 7.2 innings stuck out 5 and gave up 1 earned run. Jake Rose , Angel Christiano, Steve Dubois, Ben Sullivan and Cole Varano all collected multiple hits for Canton. Victor Rivera went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s for Naugatuck.
