Burlington Hunters 9   Canton Crushers 1

The Burlington Hunters defeated the Canton Crushers 9-1 in the final game of the 2026 Tri-State Dunkin’ Series. It was an old school pitching matchup between Hunter’s Ty Morin and Crusher’s long time vet Jimmy Spirito.  Both pitchers shut down the opposing offense early until Angel Christiano got the Crushers on the board in the bottom of the 3rd with a sac fly to right field.  The Hunters however would respond in the top of the 4th with a 3-run home run swatted by Josue “Sway” Lopez who finally hit one at Dunkin’ Park and made sure everyone heard about it.  Later in the inning with the bases loaded Jeff Osak would send one over the left field wall for a grand slam to put the Hunters up 8-1.  In the top of the 5th, George Zaruba would swat an rbi double to push the score to 9-1.  Ty Morin earned the win on the mound.  Jake Rinkavage and Tim Krol closed the door for the Hunters in relief.  Both teams are back in action this Sunday; The Crushers take on the Bethlehem Plowboys at home while the Hunters travel to Waterbury for a match up with the Waterbury Mountain Boys.

Game Highlights: Tommaso Tollis brought himself back out of retirement for the 3rd time and finally got a base hit; Chris Rossi made his return from the IL and made a nice play at second base; Lorenzo Rossi stole the show with his incredible effort as bat boy; Justin McCulloch finally joined the team group chat; and finally, the biggest news of the night, in the post game celebration the team hit 4 flips setting a Hunter personal record.
