Candlewood Kraken 9    Canton Crushers 7

Candlewood Kraken topped Canton Crushers 9-7 on Tuesday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at seven in the top of the eighth when Braydon Stellato doubled, scoring two runs. Canton Crushers opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run. Canton Crushers added one run in the second after Daniel Petro singled down the left field line. Danny Reid singled down the left field line, which helped Candlewood Kraken tie the game at two in the top of the third. Canton Crushers took the lead in the bottom of the third. Aidan Hefele induced Jack Rife to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, to give Canton Crushers the edge, 3-2. Candlewood Kraken jumped into the lead in the top of the fourth when Jake Coniglio doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Jake Bryant induced Tommy Keough to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored. Canton Crushers made the score 7-6 in the bottom of the sixth after Petro singled, scoring one run, Jackson Senecal was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Stellato induced Tony Nicoletti to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored. Spencer Stahl grounded out, which helped Candlewood Kraken tie the game at seven in the top of the seventh.

Tri-Town Trojans 11   Valley Ducks 0

Tri- Town Trojans defeated Valley Ducks 11-0 on Tuesday at Litchfield Community Field as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jon McNeils and Bobby Chatfield each pitched for the Trojans in the game. Tri- Town Trojans scored eight runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory.  Miles Wilson singled, scoring one run, Joey Grantmeyer singled, scoring one run, Russ Sears drew a walk, scoring one run, Luis Muller singled, scoring one run, Brandon Spadolino induced Willy Yahn to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, and McNeils singled, scoring two runs. Tri- Town Trojans got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after Danny McCarty drew a walk, scoring one run, and Wilson singled, scoring two runs.

Chatfield earned the win for Tri- Town Trojans. The starter gave up two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jacobi Bouchard took the loss for Valley Ducks. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking five. McNeils pitched one inning of scoreless ball for Tri- Town Trojans in relief. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit, striking out two and walking one.

Tri- Town Trojans amassed 13 hits in the game. Wilson, McNeils, Austin Patenaude, Coleby Bunnell, and Muller each collected two hits for Tri- Town Trojans. Wilson went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Tri- Town Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. McCarty and Byron Carr led the team with two free passes each. Wilson stole two bases. Tri- Town Trojans stole four bases in the game. Spadolino went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Valley Ducks in hits. Valley Ducks turned one double play in the game. Valley Ducks were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Alex Mentone had the most chances in the field with four.

Next up for Tri- Town Trojans is a game against Waterbury on Wednesday.

Burlington Hunters 15   Torrington Thunder 1

The Burlington Hunters defeat the Torrington Thunder 15-1 to earn their 8th win of the 2026 season.  Anthony Izzo earned the win on the mound surrendering just 1 hit while striking out 10.  Jake Rinkavage and Tim Krol both struck out the side in relief. Taylor Donofrio blew the shutout, surrendering an RBI double hit by Thunder third baseman Robert Anton.  The Hunters offensively collected 15 hits.  Chad Lavelle, Andrew Bunger, Josue “Sway” Lopez all had 2 hit games.  PO Taylor Donofrio made up for his poor performance on the mound by going 5 for 5 at the plate including a double.  Jheremi Rosado, making his season debut, reached base all 5 times with a hit and 4 walks.  For the Thunder, Robert Anton and Kyle Green were responsible for both Thunder knocks. The Hunters enjoy a week long break before taking on the Naugatuck White Sox while the Thunder look to rebound this Thursday also against the Naugatuck White Sox.  

Game Highlights: Tommaso Tollis has health insurance; Zack Rinkavage played an amazing right field; Sean O’Donnell was almost useless at the plate but thankfully has a hittable face and was plunked two times; and finally Jacob Paschetto missed the game to go watch the Red Sox lose to the Blue Jays.
