Austin Swanson collected three hits in three at bats, as Tri- Town Trojans defeated Amenia Monarchs 7-1 on Wednesday at Beekman Park. Swanson singled in the second inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the first inning. Tri- Town Trojans got on the board in the first inning after Willy Yahn tripled, scoring two runs. Tri- Town Trojans added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Swanson singled, and Coleby Bunnell flew out, each scoring one run. Yahn earned the win for Tri- Town Trojans. The pitcher allowed one hit and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. Tri- Town Trojans had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Nate Clark and Yahn led the team with two free passes each. Swanson stole three bases. Tri- Town Trojans stole six bases in the game. Tri- Town Trojans turned one double play in the game. Kasey Moore led the team with one run batted in. Colby Dunlop went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Amenia Monarchs in hits. Tri- Town Trojans will travel to Burlington for their next game on Thursday.
