The Burlington Hunters defeated the Torrington Thunder 11-0 to secure their 11th victory of the season. Ty Morin started on the mound for the Hunters and went the distance for the complete game shutout win scattering 4 hits while striking out 5. Jon Eno got the scoring started for the Hunters with a clutch 2 out rbi single in the bottom of the 2nd. Chad Lavelle had another big day at the plate with 2 hits, one being a long opposite field solo shot. It was a close game through 4 innings until the Hunters broke the game open in the bottom of the 5th. Andrew Bunger struck first with a 2 RBI single, Josue Sway Lopez followed with a rbi double. Tim Krol and Tommaso Tollis each drove in runs as well to cap off the 6 run inning. In the bottom of the 6th with bases loaded George “Can’t hit a home run“ Zaruba smacked a bases clearing double to make the score 11-0.
Game Highlights include: For the first time since The Bush administration, Ty Morin threw a complete game; Sean O’Donnell along with Chad Lavelle need another year of college ball to work on fly ball communication; O’Donnell also tripped over his own two feet like a real bozo trying to sneak a bunt single; Zack Martin for some reason tried to steal second base and as you can imagine was thrown out by 60 feet; and finally Sway set a record for highest infield fly pop-up ever hit in any professional or amateur baseball league in North America.
