Bethlehem Plowboys 4   Winsted Whalers 2

The Plowboys and Whalers battled it out on a very hot Saturday morning in Bethlehem that saw the Plow come out on top 4-2. Keegan Daigle took the ball for the Plow, throwing 7 strong innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits and striking out 11. Casey Weingart countered Daigle for Winsted, throwing 7 strong as well, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and striking out 2. The Whale got the scoring going early on a base hit by Mitchell Gryniuck scoring Mark Johnson in the second inning. The Plow tied the ball game up in the bottom half of the inning after Jarrett Michaels reached first on an error and Colby Linnell made the Whale pat knocking Michaels in to tie it up with a double in the gap. The game remained knotted at 1 through 4 innings until Isaiah Johnson came up clutch, smacking a solo home run to left field to give the Plow the 2-1 lead. The Plow would add 2 more runs thanks to RBI by Matt Mancini and Colby Linnell again in the 6th and 8th innings. George Bielizna closed down the game for the Plow, pitching the final two innings striking out 3 and allowing 1 run on a homer by Austin Brochu to lead off the top of the ninth. The teams are back at it tomorrow at 10am at walker field in Winsted as the Plowboys look to close out the series.

 

Tri-Town Trojans 9  CT Gamecocks 2

Miles Scribner was the winning pitcher on the mound, going 7 1/3 and Connor Gannon came in for the final 5 out. Mike Fabiaschi (3 RBIs)and Evan Scribner (2B and RBI) led the attack on offense for Trojans. Pat Smith had two hits for the Gamecocks.

 

Valley Ducks 5   Brass City Brew 0

The Quack took down the Vipers 5-0 in the first game of the three game set. Zach Royka followed up his no hitter by tossing a complete game (9 innings) three hitter with 12 K’s. Kyle Daddona had an rbi single to open up the scoring. Big Nick Forino stayed hot for The Ducks, going 2-3 with 3 RBI’s. Game 2 is Sunday 3pm @ Municipal Stadium.
