Amenia Monarchs 3   Canton Crushers 1

Monarchs win 3-1 yesterday at Bowdoin. Monarchs scored in the 1st on an error. Both pitcher, Zach Spencer for Amenia and Jimmy Spirito for Canton, pitched well not allowing any earned runs. Spencer would be relieved by Nick Reilly in the 6th and Reilly would go on to finish the game. In the 7th Amenia would add 2 runs on back to back HR’s from Will Perotti and Micah Matsudaira. Canton would threaten in the 9th scoring 1 and leaving the bases loaded to end the game.

 

Bethlehem Plowboys 7  Burlington Hunters 2

The plow boys took the w on a muggy Sunday morning. Matt sibilia went 5 strong innings with fenn coming into to close out the 6th and 7th with a 7-2 Victory. Brice Waldron, Greg Campbell, and Joe Rupe led the offense for the plow all with 3 Hits each.
Naugatuck Nightmare 7   Winsted Whalers 4
The sun decided to make an appearance on what turned out to be a beautiful Sunday morning for baseball as the Nightmares took the field at Walker Field against the Whalers. Wouldn’t take long for Naugatuck to jump out to a 5-0 lead in the first thanks to a few walks and rbi singles from Beadle(3-4 3rbis) Valentin(1-4 1rbi) and Perez(1-3 1rbi). The game would settle down after that, until the 4th when Beadle would once again deliver a 2 run single to add to the lead making it 7-1. The Whalers would get the bats going in the 7th and push across 3 more. Winstead bats were led by Torres(2-4) who almost hit the 380 sign off the garage in right, Warner(1-3 1rbi 1hbp) and Kent(2-4). Gryniak(1-2 2bbs) also reached base multiple times. Christian Cuevas went 6 strong innings on the hill for the nightmares allowing just 9 hits and striking out 3, Looking like a an absolute stud out there in his first start on the mound of the season. Valentin would come into relief in the 7th with the bases loaded and would get out of the inning thanks to a huge defensive double play by Spadolino (1-3 1bb) and Matt Morelli (2bb). The rest of the game went quiet as Naugatuck would Finish the game on top 7-4 wrapping up win number 5 on the Season Honorable mention to both teams for playing perfect defense not committing one error on either side of the ball.
