Bethlehem Plowboys 12   Brass city Vipers 6

Plow wins a tight one over the Brass City Vipers in extras 12-6! Kyle Banche got the ball for Bethlehem going 4 plus innings, allowing 5 runs, only 2 earned, striking out 7. The Vipers countered with Bryant Bonilla who went 6 plus innings, striking out 2 and allowing 6 runs to Bethlehem. The bats were hot on both sides as the game was filled with one team taking the lead and the other tied it up or re took the lead pretty much every inning. The Plow bats were led by Joe Rupe going a smooth 4-5 with 3 runs scored as well as Chase Belisle, Brice Waldron, Colby Linnell, and Jesse Swartout, all reaching base atleast twice with RBIs to pair with those at bats. The Vipers bats were hot throughout as well as Jaylen Kelley hit an absolute bomb in the 5th to give the Vipers a 6-5 lead. Jaylen as well as Collin Hajjar, Manny Ortiz, and Joevanni Torres all reached base atleast twice and added RBIs as well. With the game going back and forth all tied up going into extras, the Plow finally struck and scored 6 in the top of the 8th take back the lead decisively. George Bielizna threw the final 4 innings for Bethlehem only letting 1 run in and striking out 2, while also looking quite nimble on the mound. Roll Plow!

 

CT Gamecocks 5   Canton Crushers 4

On a beautiful Sunday night for baseball, the Canton Crushers and The Gamecocks battled it out to the final out! The Gamecocks got things started in the bottom of the first when Nate Crocker (3-4 BB, R, RBI) lead off with a single, a double by Ty Fernandes (2-5 2B, 3 RBI) scored Crocker and a single by Pat Raymond (3-4 2B, RBI) scored Fernandes. Canton got one back in the top of the 3rd on a single by Rose scoring Sullivan. The Crushers tied it up in the 5th on a single by Bryant scoring Goodale. The Gamecocks regained the lead in the 7th on an RBI single by Crocker scoring Dan Neal. Canton refused to go away taking their first lead of the game in the 8th. Rose took a HBP and swiped second before Rose scored him on a single, a FC advanced Rose to second and Michanczyk moved him to 3rd on a single and Mulhall scored Rose on a single. Down to their last chance the gamecocks entered the bottom of the 9th and got a Neal single, Ian glover beating out an infield hit and Crocker walk. With 2 outs and the bases loaded, down 1 run, Fernandes delivered a base hit into right center scoring Neal and Christian Peterson for the Win! On the Mound for Canton, James Michanzyck, pulled an iron man pitching the whole game with no relief in sight, put on an amazing effort. For the gamecocks was Michael Nanai in his season debut pitching 6 solid innings surrendering 2 runs. Ryan Glover pitched well in relief picking up the W. Next for the Gamecocks is game 2 of 4 vs the Ducks Thursday night at Wolcott HS
