Burlington Hunters 8    Naugatuck Nightmare 3

At the Dam in Burlington with smoke in the air thanks to our brothers from the North, the Hunters beat the Naugatuck Nightmare 8-3 in another come from behind win.  The Nightmare jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead thanks to a strong offensive performance from Sam Beadle (3/3, Double, 3RBI).  Terrance Noss started on the mound for the Nightmare and tossed a strong 4.2 innings striking out 4, frustrating the Hunter lineup before being removed in a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 5th.  George Zaruba would step to the plate and deliver with a bases clearing double to tie the game.

In the bottom of the 6th the Hunters would call on Chris Rossi in a pinch hit situation with runners on second and third. Rossi delivered with an RBI single to give the Hunters the lead.  The Hunters would then tack on some insurance runs thanks to a sac fly and a bases clearing 3 run triple by Chad Lavelle.  Taylor Donofrio went the distance on the mound for the Hunters allowing only 1 earned run and striking out 6 to earn his third victory of the 2023 campaign.

Fun facts of the game include:  The Hunters hosted their first Latin Appreciation night, unveiling a new uniform to the collection, Ty Morin and Zack Martin both threw quite the temper tantrums, and Joe Cardaropoli set a record for the shortest SAC Fly ever hit.
