Burlington Hunters 2   Waterbury Mountain Boys 0

The Burlington Hunters defeated the Waterbury Mountain Boys 2-0 to secure their 17th win of the season, along with the 1 seed for the upcoming Tri-State playoffs. It was a pitcher’s duel between Hunter’s Tim Krol and Mountain Boys’ Spencer Fox.  Both pitchers would each go the distance and punch out 11 batters while shutting down the opposing offense. In the top of the 5th the Hunters would finally break through thanks to a leadoff triple by Josue “Sway” Lopez (guy almost died getting to third) followed by a Tim Krol RBI double.  The Hunters would also score a run later in the inning off an error.  From there Krol slammed the door shut earning the complete game shutout win along with a no-hitter, the guy really did everything himself.  The Hunters are back in action Thursday against the Bethlehem Plow while the Mountain Boys take on the Torrington Thunder this Saturday.

Game Highlights: The win secures regular season first place for The Hunters, the first time in their team history; Krol was ready for his strong performance after taking a fat nap on the car ride down to the field; Andrew Bunger and Chad Lavelle forgot how to play defense; Tommaso Tollis forgot the right uniform combo AGAIN; and finally the team continued to be disappointed in the post game celebration when Justin McCulloch refused to share his 1.5 pounds of Milk Duds with the rest of the team.
