Torrington Thunder 6 Valley Ducks 2
Ryan Green struck out 18 in a complete-game two-hitter to lead the Torrington Thunder to a 6-2 win over the Valley Ducks on Monday at Fuessenich Park. The Thunder scored all six of their runs in the third inning, highlighted by Robert Anton’s two-run single, a bases-loaded walk by Bryce Adamski, an RBI hit-by-pitch, and a two-run wild pitch.
Despite the loss, Ducks catcher Alex Mentone stood out with one of Valley’s two hits while providing a strong presence behind the plate. John McMahon had the Ducks’ other hit and drove in both runs, while Jamie Coen struck out six before the Ducks bullpen kept the Thunder scoreless the rest of the way.
Valley Kraken 12 Naugatuck White Sox 2
Zach Prahach drove in five runs on three hits to lead Candlewood Kraken past Naugatuck 12-2 on Monday at New Milford High School. Prahach singled in the first scoring two, singled in the sixth scoring two, and singled in the second scoring one. Candlewood Kraken scored five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-1 in the first. A single by Prahach extended the Candlewood Kraken lead to 6-1 in the bottom of the second inning. Kraken added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Zach Mars singled down the right field line, Tommy Keough singled, and then scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. Aidan Hefele earned the win for Kraken. He gave up three hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking none.
Team had 14 hits in the game. John John Coniglio, Jake Coniglio, and Spencer Barnett each collected multiple hits. Candlewood who improves to 12-3 will host Mountain Boys Friday 6pm
