Winsted Whalers 12   Amenia Monarchs 1

You can’t have earned runs if you make the necessary errors. Peter Greenwood would start on the mound for the Whale. On the second pitch of the game Matt Damon would smoke a shot back at Greenwood who would cleanly field it and throw over to first, sorry, over first. Damon ended up on third with his speed. Just to clear his head, Greenwood on the next pitch would airmail the backstop, allowing Damon to score. However, after completing his stat padding, Greenwood would go on to throw 5 innings (the whole game), giving up no runs, 2 hits, 4 walks, and striking out 4. The Whale’s offense came to play this game. Scoring a total of 12 runs, 10 in one inning, they would take a comfortable lead the entire game. Chet Warner went 2-3 single, RBI double and Mark Cummings went 2-3 double, triple. This marked the first extra base hit for Mark since the start of the season, the 2024 season. Final Score: Whale 12 Monarchs 1
