Cooper Johnson went 3 for 3 with a double, five RBIs, a run scored and a stolen base to lead the Trojans to an 11-1 victory over the New Haven Ravens. Willy Yahn threw a complete game, allowing one run while striking out seven and scattering six hits. Tommy Troy and Casey McDonald recorded a hit each. Jose Hernandez recorded three hits for the Ravens. Jose Hernandez had three hits including a double.

Bobby Chatfield records 100th career win

Wolcott traveled to Litchfield where Bobby Chatfield was on the hill attempting for his 100th win for at least the 4th or 5th time. He was finally successful in doing so going 5 innings giving up 3 hits and strike out 4, in a 5-0 win. On a night where the vibes for the Trojans were flowing at a season high, it was really a night for the old heads at Community. Where Casey McDonald was running the bases like he was 17 again going 1-3 with double and a run scored. Danny McCarty stretched the lead in the 3rd inning with a bases clearing single scoring 3 runs. He and the rest of the team are still trying to figure out how he only managed a single. The youth for the Trojans showed out in the last two innings with Miles Wilson picking up a hit and Peyton Thomas going the last two innings striking out 3 and giving up no hits.

Bethlehem Plowboys 10  Winsted Whalers 1

Carsten Donovan collected three hits in four at bats to lead Bethlehem Plowboys over Winsted whalers 10-1 on Thursday at Walker Field. Donovan singled in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fifth inning. The Plowboys won thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning.  Donovan singled, scoring two runs, Jarrett Michaels drew a walk, scoring one run, Jon Wilson drew a walk, scoring one run, and Ryan Ponte tripled, scoring three runs. Winsted opened the scoring in the third after Jay Torres singled, scoring one run.

Ty Boisvert earned the win for the Plow. The hurler allowed seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Mitchell Gryniuk took the loss for Winsted. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking four. Jesse Swartout tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Bethlehem in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit, striking out two and walking one. Bethlehem collected 12 hits in the game. Ponte led the team with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Isaiah Johnson and Brett Davino each collected multiple hits for Bethlehem. Torres went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Mark  Cummings led Winsted whalers with two hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Bethlehem will travel to Naugatuck for their next game on Sunday.

Valley Kraken 6  Torrington Thunder 2

Valley Kraken jumped out to an early lead, scoring two runs in the first inning thanks to a passed ball and a single by Zach Mars. Braydon Stellato added two RBIs with a double in the second inning, helping Kraken build a 4-1 lead. The team stole four bases and played clean defense with no errors. On the mound, Kraken’s Riley Corgan struck out eight over six innings, while Torrington’s Sam Scott gave up four runs in four innings. Torrington managed a few hits and runs from Bryce Adamski, Tommy Gostkowski, and Gabe Duncan but couldn’t close the gap. Kraken took the game 6-2, and Torrington now looks ahead to their next game in Wolcott on Sunday.

Burlington Hunter 13  Valley Ducks 4

The Burlington Hunters extended their winning streak to 5, defeating the Valley Ducks 13-4.  Ty Morin earned the win on the mound, logging 5.2 innings, surrendering 2 earned runs on 5 hits.  Mostly useless for the entire game; Andrew Bunger finally provided some production, this time on the mound, with his trusty eephus and closed the door for the Hunters with a 1-2-3 7th inning.  Offensively Alex Rauso, who finally stopped playing slow pitch softball for one night, had a 3 hit game including a home run and drove in 4 runs.  George Zaruba blasted a long home run to right center and drove in 3 runs on the day.  Jeff Osak and Steve Caruso both drove in 2 runs each and Zack Rinkavage had a multi-hit game including a double.  For the Ducks, Donny EK continues to be a Hunter killer and smacked a long double.  Shane Fusco reached base three times including 2 singles, and Ty Pelletier had a multi-hit day.

Amenia Monarchs 10  New Haven Ravens  0

Monarchs beat the New Haven Ravens 10-0. Amenia would jump on the board early when Matt Damon and Colby Dunlop hit back to back doubles. Amenia would score another in the first. Monarchs threatened in the bottom of the 4th with runners on first and second no outs when a rocket was hit to third and New Haven would turn a triple play. They would flash the leather and would turn two double plays also on the evening. Brodie Rathjen would throw a 6 inning 1 hitter with 8ks.
