Bethlehem Plowboys 9  New Haven  Ravens 2

Chase Belisle’s Big Day Propels Bethlehem Plowboys Past New Haven Ravens to a 9-2 victory on Saturday in Bethlehem. Chase collected three hits in three at bats,  Belisle doubled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Bethlehem Plowboys won thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning.  Jesse Swartout singled, scoring one run, Belisle doubled, scoring two runs, Ryan Reynolds doubled, scoring two runs, and Jake Torrence singled, scoring one run. Bethlehem Plowboys opened the scoring in the bottom of the fourth thanks to two singles. Bethlehem Plowboys first got on the board when Reynolds singled, scoring one run. Coach Revere was forced into action, going 1-3 with 2 runs scored, and reaching on 2 errors. New Haven Ravens tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a sacrifice fly by Josh Colon, and a single by Luis Pagan.

Matt Sibilia earned the win for Bethlehem Plowboys. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over six innings, striking out two and walking five. Jason Johnson pitched two innings of scoreless ball for Bethlehem Plowboys in relief. The hurler surrendered one hit, striking out two and walking one. Bethlehem Plowboys accumulated 11 hits in the game. Reynolds and Belisle each collected three hits for Bethlehem Plowboys. Reynolds went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Torrence collected two hits for Bethlehem Plowboys in four at bats. Bethlehem Plowboys had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Dylan Chung and Jarrett Michaels led the team with two free passes each. Pagan and Colon were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for New Haven Ravens. Jeremy  Ossa collected two hits for New Haven Ravens in three at bats. New Haven Ravens had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Jordan Carreira and Armstrong  led the team with two free passes each. New Haven Ravens turned one double play in the game.

Bethlehem Plowboys play at home on Thursday against Burlington Hunters in their next game.

Sunday June 22

Valley Ducks 11   Amenia Monarchs 1

Chris Oliwa took the bump in game 1 for the Ducks as they faced off with Amenia. A leadoff single by Colin Russell was followed by singles by Rich Lamping and Nick Reilly and Amenia took an early 1-0 lead. Oliwa settled in and allowed 2 hits the rest of the game while striking out 9 in a complete game effort. Oliwa also had 3 hits, 3 runs, and 3 rbi. Kyle Daddona had 3 hits and scored 3 runs. 6 Ducks had a multi-hit game and 9 collected hits in the offensive outburst.

Valley Ducks 8  Canton Crushers 7  (8 innings)

Kyle Daddona took the slab on game two of the Ducks Sunday double header in the heat and toughed out 5-1/3 innings. The Canton offense was ready as they collected 10 hits spread throughout the lineup. Jack Rose kept the Duck bats at bay striking out 4 and allowing 2 runs. Heading into the bottom of the 7th, the quack trailed 7-4. A three run double by Kyle Dadonna tied things up with the bases loaded and 1 out. Steve Harrison was tough as nails on the bump in the 7th and 8th – tight-roping out of danger and not allowing a run. Ryan Shiel took the first pitch of the bottom of the 8th into the right center gap for another walkoff knock for the Ducks.

Valley Krakan 5  Wnsted Whalers 4

The Kraken sunk the Whalers in the Sunday barn burner, 5-4. The Kraken was led by a dominant pitching performance from Aidan Hefele. Hef pitched a 9-inning complete game only throwing 110 pitches. He let up 4 runs and 3 walks with 5 strikeouts and only 6 hits. He kept it scoreless for the first 4 innings and kept the Whalers electric lineup from amassing more than 4 in the game. The Kraken offense totaled 10 hits with multi-hit performances from Braydon Stellato, AJ Romaniello, Billy Romaniello, and Kyle Bennett. The Whalers offense tied the game up in the 4th inning off of a fielder’s choice where Jay Torres scored. The Whalers scored in the 7th to take the lead off of a Adam Wright double scoring Johnny Lippincatt. The Kraken took the lead back in the top of the 9th with RBI’s from AJ Romaniello and Kyle Bennet to make it 5-2 in the bottom of the 9th. The Whalers managed to score 2 runs, but Aidan Hefele struck the last batter out to seal a Kraken Victory.

Wolcott Scrappers 7  CT Sliders 6

The Wolcott Scrappers had another come from behind win riding a 4 run 8th inning to earn a 7-6 victory over the Sliders at Waterville park. Clutch 2 out hits by Nick Sconziano, drove in tying run, and Ben Bianchi driving in the go ahead and insurance runs sent the Scrap to the win. Bianchi ended up with 2 hits and picked up the win on the mound with 3 2/3 innings of 1 run ball. Dillon Fernandez picked up his 3rd save of the season getting the last 4 outs. Carson Lentini had 3 hits and scored 2 runs and AJ Martinez added 2 hits a run and rbi for the victors. The Sliders were led at the plate by Luke Sokolski with 3 hits and 3rbi’s and Ryan Montini with 3 hits and 2rbi’s. Josh Dobratz reached base 5 times(2 hits and 3 walks) scoring 2 runs.
