Thursday June 19 Finals
Burlington Hunters 8 Wolcott Scrappers 0
Amenia Monarchs 5 Torrington Thunder 2
Torrington Thunder fell 5-2 to Amenia on Thursday despite a scrappy fight. Amenia got on the board early thanks to a walk by Nick Reilly in the first. They kept the momentum rolling in the second with a mix of patience and timely hits—Zach Carroll’s single and a pair of bases-loaded walks helped them jump ahead. Aidan Damon pitched a solid five innings for Amenia, striking out seven and allowing just one earned run. Sam Scott gave the Thunder some breathing room in relief, going nearly five innings, but the early damage stuck. Ryan Green took the loss after a tough outing with seven walks in just over an inning. Kyle Green led Torrington’s offense, going a perfect 3-for-3, while Robert Anton swiped two bags. The Thunder also showed discipline at the plate with six walks and played clean defense with zero errors. Amenia tallied nine hits and ten walks, spreading the RBIs around like a well-coordinated potluck. Aiden Hartwell went 3-for-3, and four different players drove in a run. Torrington Thunder looks to bounce back this Sunday against Burlington.
All other games rained out.
