CT Sliders 11 Valley Kraken 8
Wow. What a way to describe the sliders 11-8 win over the valley kraken. The game originally started in late June was finished at a completely different field in July after a game with multiple rain delays and eventually a suspended game led the two teams to be tied 8-8 after 9 complete innings. The sliders jumped out in the original contest 3-0 before the kraken scored 6 unanswered runs starting with multiple base hits, a walk by coach Billy romaniello , capped off by a double by mcminn to make the lead 6-3. The sliders eventually tied it 6-6 with rallies making it 6-4 with singles from Josh Dobratz , Pat smith , and Pat Raymond and then tying it with another rally started by Dobratz (6-6) followed by doubles from Pat smith and ray Campbell to tie it. The kraken pulled ahead 8-6 in the ninth after romaniello reached base again and mcminn doubled him in. The sliders down to their last out called on Dobratz to single followed by a game tying two run home run by Pat smith to tie it 8-8. The rain came pouring down after Ryan glover held the kraken in the bottom of the ninth and the game was to be resumed… in wolcott. Old faithful Dobratz led off the extra innings resumption with a 2 run home run over the wolcott hs monster and the sliders held the kraken in the bottom half to secure the win 11-8

The battle of the two Valleys was a spectacle to witness. The Kraken were the first to cross home after Miles Pokrinchak and Ernie Farrell knocked in one run each. The Ducks tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by Frank Frosceno. Chris Oliwa’s two run homerun in the 6th inning helped bring the Ducks within two runs, but the Kraken held the lead thanks to the run-less 7th by Aiden Hefele. On the bump, Granata got the win and Hefele earned the save.
