Burlington Hunters 8 Wolcott Scrappers 5
The Burlington Hunters defeated the Wolcott Scrappers 8-5 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Noah Connor got the start on the mound for the Hunters tossing 4 innings, surrendering 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 7. Taylor Donofrio, the jerk, would steal the win tossing 2 innings in mid-relief. Tim Krol notched the rare 9 out save, throwing the last 3 innings, allowing 2 hits while striking out 5. Several Hunters had multi-hit days to help lead the offensive attack (Jose Josh Sway Lopez, George Zaruba, Andrew Bunger, Sean O’Donnell, Tommaso Tollis, and Jeff Osak). Newest Hunter Sean O’Donnell stole the hearts of his teammates while also stealing 4 bags. The Hunter defense did their best to blow the lead late with their inability to catch and throw the ball. With the Scrappers living up to their name and threatening in the top of the 9th, O’Donnell would do his best Dua Lipa and DaBaby impression and seemed to be levitating as he made an amazing diving catch to end the game.
Game highlights include: Sway Lopez, still exhausted from a triple he hit back on May 30th, got thrown out at second after a poor read on a fly ball, you would think someone who played at the great Becker College would have better instincts on the bases; Tyler Doyle and his cowboy boots were missed; Andrew Bunger finally fielded a ground ball surprising his teammates and the 6 fans in attendance; Tim Krol is nominated for “Best Pimp Job of the Year” when he bat flipped on a fly ball that landed 30 feet from the fence; and finally there has been some movement in the Ryan Lavelle missing persons case with Team Officials receiving a ransom note from an anonymous POI.

The Ducks take on Burlington Tuesday in what should be a great game.
