Bethlehem Plowboys 3   Tri-Town Trojans 2

The Plowboys and Tri Town Trojans met in a highly anticipated World Series rematch Thursday night at the Plow where Ty Boisvert and Miles Scribner would battle it out on the bump. The Plowboys got out to an early lead thanks to a first inning RBI double by Isaiah Johnson. The Plow would tack on two more in the 4th innings thanks to a Chase Belisle two RBI double and that’s all the Plowboys would need. Boisvert threw 6 innings, striking out 5 and allowing 2 runs while Scribner would work 5 innings allowing 3 runs and striking out 5 as well. The Trojans put two runs on the board in the 6th inning thanks to Jon McNelis and Bryon Carr adding RBI for the team. Ryan Ponte came on in the 7th for the save for the Plow, while he made it interesting allowing Willy Yahn and Danny McCarty to reach base, he was able to strike out the first 2 batters, walk those 2 and then strike out Colby Bunnell to end the game.

Valley Ducks 1   CT Sliders 0  (8 innings)

The Valley Ducks took down the CT Sliders 1-0 in extras Thursday night. It was a pitchers duel indeed. Jacobi Bouchard was the winning pitcher for the Ducks, going 8 innings with 10 k’s. He allowed one hit. Donny Ek notched a couple knocks and scored the winning run on a Matt Kozlowski sacrifice fly in extra innings. Ian Glover had his A game going on the mound for the Sliders as well- going 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, while striking out 10.

Burlington Hunters 4  Torrington Thunder 2

The Burlington Hunters defeated the Torrington Thunder 4-2 led by a strong performance on the mound by Tim Krol earning his second win of the season.  Krol scattered just three hits over six innings while racking up 11 strikeouts.    Flores started on the mound for the Thunder.  After giving up 2 runs in the first, he would settle in and keep the Hunter bats quiet until the 6th inning, striking out 6.  Offensively Duncan would collect two hits on the evening, and Green had a RBI single in the 4th to make it a one score game.  2-1 going into the top of the 6th, the Hunters would tack on two insurance runs over the next two innings which proved to be enough for the win.  Taylor Donofrio picked up the save to close out the game.  The Hunters were led offensively by Tommaso Tollis (2/4, 2SB) , Jose Josh Sway Lopez (2/4, 2 Runs, triple, SB), and George Zaruba who drove in two runs.
Game highlights include: Taylor Donofrio continues to love playing baseball and wanting to face at least one more batter, made a throwing error on what could have been the last play of the game; Josh Jose Sway Lopez continues to struggle with reading the group chat and showed up in the wrong colored jersey once again;  Lastly, Team officials are working with local and federal authorities in order to locate lost Hunters Ryan Lavelle and Tyler Doyle, last seen some where in Colorado.

Valley Kraken 6   Naugatuck Scorpions 1

The Valley Kraken secured their first win in the Tri-State League, defeating the Naugatuck Scorpions 6-1. The Scorpions starter, Chris, allowed 4 runs in his six innings on the bump. Riley Corgan threw a gem for the Kraken, pitching 7 full innings. The right hander allowed six hits, one run (zero earned), striking out six and walking only two. Will Granata led the offense with 3 hits on the day, two doubles and a single, amassing 2 RBI’s. The Kraken were aggressive and efficient on the basepaths with four stolen bases, two by Landon Tannone. The Kraken turn their sights to the Canton Crushers on Sunday.

Winsted Whalers – Wolcott Scrappers

Game tied after 6 innings and called due to darkness – game will be finished later in season.

Amenia Monarchs 13    Canton Crushers 3

Amenia Monarchs get the W and get to 2-1 on the year as they beat Canton 13-3. Sammy Rigolino would get the start for the Monarchs. He gave up 2 runs in first inning but settled in after that giving up zero earned runs the next 3 innings. Down 2-0 Monarchs responded with a big 8 run inning that started with a base clearing double from Richie Lamping followed by triples from Ethan Lounsbury and high school softball coach Chris Osterman who also went 2-3. Other Monarchs who had nights at the plate include KungFu Micah Matsudaira who had 2 doubles, Calab McCaul who went 2-3 and a 3-3 night for the Bulldog Sam Foley. Jimmy and Jeff would each have 2 hits with Jeff having all 3 RBIs for Canton. Amenia will take on Torrington Sunday at Doc Bartlett Field.
