Bethlehem Plowboys 6 Amenia Monarchs 3
Plow wins 6-3 over the Amenia Mocharchs. Ty Boisvert got the start going 5 strong allowing 2 runs and striking out 6. The Plow bats were led by Nate Cormier going 3-4 with 3 runs scored, followed by reigning league MVP Greg Campbell in the order going 2-4 with 2 runs scored as well. Isaiah Johnson and Joe Rupe also chipped in 3 hit days. The Monarchs were led by Colby Dunlop, going 2-5 with a double and pitching a clean 8th inning for the Monarchs. After a year off due to injury, Dan Keckler pitched a clean 9th inning for the Plow as well to shut the door. The Plowboys will take on the Canton Crushers next!
Valley Ducks 4 Winsted Whalers 1
The Valley Ducks took down the Winsted Whalers 4-1 on opening day. Jacobi Bouchard shined in his first start as a Duck, going 7 innings, allowing 2 hits and 0 runs. He also struck out 9 batters. Alex Mentone lead the charge offensively for the Quack going 2-3 with 3 RBI’s. Tino Ciarlo also had 2 hits in his Ducks debut. Mitch Grynick had a double for the Whalers. The Ducks take on defending champs Tri-Town Thursday while the Whalers take on Burlington.
Tri-Town Trojans 13 CT Sliders 2
Trojans started off season with another Win, behind timely hitting and pitching. Miles Scribner got the win on the mound going a strong 5 innings, followed by Connor Gannon and Aidan Donohue closing it out. Newcomers Bryon Carr and Owen Hibbard led the hitting attack, with multiple hits and multiple RBIs. Willy Yahn and Jon McNelis also added 2 hits each to the offense. Josh Dobratz, Tyler Fernandes, and Patrick Smith swung the bat very well at the plate, adding solid contact hits for the Sliders.
Burlington Hunters 9 Valley Kraken 8 (10 innings)
On Opening Day of the 2024 Tri-State season the Burlington Hunters beat the Valley Kraken 9-8 in a back and fourth game that required 10 innings. The Kraken started the scoring by plating 3 runs in the first off of Ty Morin, who would eventually settle in and pitch a strong 5 innings holding the Kraken to 3. The Hunters would respond in the middle innings by scoring 4 theirselves thanks to a clutch 2 out double by Tommaso Tollis and two solo shots from Tim Krol and Andrew Bunger. The Hunters would tack on a few more runs to make it 8-3. The Kraken rallied late to force extra innings thanks to huge performances from Will Granata (4 hits on the day) and Aiden Kane (reached base 5 times). In the 10th the Hunters would score the go ahead run and completing his big day, Tim Krol slammed the door in the bottom of the 10th to earn his first Tri-State win.

Wolcott Scrappers 13 Torrington Thunder 10
In a back and forth battle – Devin Fuegen (2 hits) including the go ahead 3 run double in 8th, paced Alec Ash who went 6 strong innings as the latest generation of Wolcott Scrappers picked the first coaching win for Alex Sconziano. Torrington out-hit Wolcott 9-7 while Steve Adamski walked 4 times on the night for the Thunder. Wolcott capitalized on 6 runs scored on two hits in the eighth inning to take a commanding lead. Torrington’s Kyle Gordon was the big hitter of the night with 3 hits.
