Burlington Hunters 8 Amenia Monarchs 5
In game 2 of a three game series, The Burlington Hunters defeated the Amenia Monarchs 8-5. Amenia got off to a quick 2-0 start thanks to a two out, 2 RBI single from Kenny Shufelt. The Hunters would respond with a 3 run bottom of the first, highlighted by a loud 2-run home run by Josue Lopez. The Hunters would tack on 4 more runs in the bottom of the second to take a 7-2 lead. Amenia would respond in the next few innings to make it a 7-5 game. Ty Morin got the start for the Hunters and tossed a strong 6 innings until he was replaced by Taylor Donofrio. Donofrio would record the rare 11 out save to lock up the win for the Hunters. The Hunters advance in the Tri-State playoffs and take on the Bethlehem Plowboys this Friday night at Fussenich Park in Torrington.
