Bethlehem Plowboys 8 Wolcott Scrappers 7
Plowboys beat the scrappy Wolcott Scrappers 8-7 in a thriller at the Wolcott BAW. Jason Johnson got the start for Plow going 3 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits striking out 5. Dan Keckler came on in relief and held off a late rally by Wolcott to secure the win going 6 strong striking out 12 scattering 7 hits and allowing 6 runs (3 earned). The plow bats were hot (as usual) Greg Campbell making his bid for MVP this year stayed hot going 5-5 with 3 runs scored while Joe Rupe and Ricky Descoteaux went 3-4 each. Matt Mancini and Jesse Swartout added 2 RBIs each as well. Wolcott had some great at bats throughout the game, Matt Warren, Jack Drury, and Ike Negretti each reached base 3 times and Tony Broadhorse, had the smack of the day hitting a triple in the bottom of the 7th with the bases loaded to cut the Plow lead down to 2. Wolcott made things interesting in the bottom of the ninth loading the bases and getting one across but Dan Plowboy’d up and struck out the last batter looking with the bases full to snuff out the comeback attempt. Play of the game goes to Ryan Reynolds in the bottom of the first going full speed into the wall making a spectacular catch, he only needed 3 stitches afterwards! The Plowboys wrap up the regular season in another big game against the number 1 seed Tri town Trojans. Anyone wanna sign Yahn before Thursday?
