Bethlehem Plowboys 7 Wolcott Scrappers 3
Plowboys are back in the win column after a tough 3 game stretch with a 7-3 win over Wolcott. George Bielizna toed the slab for Bethlehem going 6 strong innings giving up 3 ER and striking out 6. Tyler Boisvert pitched for Wolcott and kept the Plow bats at bay through 3 strong innings, striking out 6 batters total. Sullivan got Wolcott on the board in the 3rd with a 2 run homer. Bethlehem started off slow trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the 4th but at long last the plow bats awoke! Ricky Descoteaux got the party started with a double (maybe knicked a leaf and shoulda been a homer) followed by a matt Mancini ground rule double. Ryan Reynolds and Jarrett Michaels reached base and were driven in my Isaiah Johnson and Ryan Bethin to put the team up 4-3 and the plow never looked back. A 3 run homer by Reynolds gave the team a nice 7-3 lead in the 5th and that was all she wrote. Kyle Banche closed the game out in the ninth 1, 2, 3, to secure the W. Up next, the number 1 seed Tri Town, should be a great game Tuesday!
Amenia Monarchs 15 Southington Gamecocks 0
The Monarchs would halt the Southington Gamecocks win streak with a 15-0 win in Amenia Thursday night. Rookie Right hander Robby Caener took the mound for Amenia picking up his first Tri-State win. Winsted Whaler 6 Thunder Ducks 1
The Winsted Whale played the Thunder Ducks at Walker Field. This game would take a quick hour and 45 minutes to complete. Austin Brochu, who started for the Whale, pitched a gem. Between his curveball and great command on his off-speed, he was able to go 7 IP, 0 ER, 3 hits, and 6K throwing 69 pitches, nice. As per the Whale offense, they would score 6 runs with Jay Torres going 3-3, 2D, 1S and Bryce Taglialatella going 0-3, sorry Bryce. Final score, Whale 6 – Ducks 1.
