Bethlehem Plowboys 2 Amenia Monarchs 1
Plowboys beat the Amenia Monarchs in a stellar game up here at Amenia Park 2-1. George Bielizna Plowboyed up and went the distance tossing all 7 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits, striking out 8. The plowboys got the party started early as Jon Wilson who went 3-4 with 2 doubles, led off with a double followed up by a double by Ricky Descoteaux to snag a 1-0 lead. Jake Shpur started for the Monarch’s and kept them in the game the whole time going 5 innings allowing 2 runs and striking out 5. In the 4th inning captain Greg Campbell took Shpur deep to give the plow a 2-0 lead and that’s all they needed. Colby Dunlop tried to get Amenia back in the swing of things with a solo shot in the bottom of the 4th but Bielizna barred down and didn’t let a runner touch third all game (besides the bomb). Overall a great game by two good teams. Plow is hot.
Tri-Town Trojans 9 Torrington Twisters 8 in 12 innings
