Winsted edged Canton in a friendly 6 inning match-up at Bowdoin Field on Tuesday night. Mark Cummings pitched 5 strong innings of no-hit baseball for the Whale. He gave up only three runs on a few walks. Lukas Gryniuk closed the game for the Whale, pitching a scoreless 6th inning. Luckily for Winsted, the Crusher offense was stopped dead in its tracks by darkness just when it started to pick up some momentum. The Crushers were lead at the plate by Taylor Riley (2BB, R) and Matt Rose (1-2, BB, R) The most offensive Whalers were Lukas Gryniuk (3-4, 2B, R, 3RBI), Owen McMahonn (1-1, 2BB, 4R, SB) and TJ Kent (2-2, 3R, 2RBI) Winsted continues the road trip to Amenia on Thursday. Plow wins 5-1 over Blasius in a 5 inning fog shortened game, George Ohtani Bielizna threw all 5 innings giving up 5 hits, 1 run and striking out 3, he also stayed hot at the dish lacing 2 singles in the left center gap and scoring a run for himself. Greg Campbell stayed hot at the dish going 2-3 with a 3 rbi triple in the 5th to break it open for the plow. Ryan Bethin and Matt Mancini each added 2 hits to the plow attack to help secure the W for “Big George”, Blasius was able to add a run in the 3rd with a base knock from Connor Goggins. |
