Kyle Dube no-hits the Winsted Whalers picking up his 3rd win of the season while striking out 9 and walking 3, leading the Black Sox to a 3-1 win. Mike Vaccarelli had 2 hits, including a double and RBI while Kody Kerski added 2 hits to lead the Sox Offense. Winsted pitcher Mitch Gryniak went the distance pitching an outstanding game allowing 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. Tom Curtin and Kyle Skidmore continue to lead the post-game festivities, now tied with most ‘flips’ on the year for the Black Sox. The Black Sox take on the CTL Bristol Knights – Monday, Valley Ducks – Tuesday and Wolcott Scrappers – Thursday. Terryvllle is 8-0. Winsted falls to 5-5. |
Valley Thunder Ducks 4 Burlington Hunters 0
After a 4 game skid the Ducks defeated the Hunters 4-0. The Ducks behind Ryan Pelletier 4 hit 2 walk 10 strike out shut out complete game, who also starting the scoring with a solo home run (1-2 with a walk)! Also for the Ducks John Griffin had 2 hits and Tyler Pelletier, Nick Forino,Kyle Dadonna and Shane Fusco all had hits. For the Hunters were led by Bunger, Morin, St. Ogne, and Tonon all had hits. Next up the undefeated Blacksox! The Ducks improve to 4-5 on the season. Burlington falls to 3-5. |
Bethlehem Plowboys 14 Southington 66ers 6
Plow wins 14-6, Justin Taylor went all nine in the 3 and a half hour sweatathon in Bethlehem giving up 6 runs walking 3 and striking out 6. Jon Wilson was 2-3 with 3 walk, 4 runs scored and 3 stolen bases while Greg Campbell was 0-1 but walked 3 times and was HBP twice and scored 5 runs. Joe Rupe and Justin taylor had 2 hits a piece to keep the lineup moving for Bethlehem. Ian Schmidt had 3 RBIs on the day while Justin Taylor added 3 himself to get some run support. AJ Lorenzatti went 3-4 for Southington with a run scored, Tyler Fernandez and Dan Neal also added runs and reaching base 3 times on the day each. The Plowboys have now won 6 games in a row after starting the season 1-5. Southington now stands at 4-7 on the year. |
