Southington 66ers 8    Valley Thunder 0

Alex Stackpole’s 18-strikeout, 3-hit, complete-game shutout led the Southington 66ers over the Valley Thunder 8 – 0 Tuesday night at Recreation Park. Stackpole struck out the side in four innings and two batters in three innings while walking two. Tyler Fernandez’s solo home run broke a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth and put the 66ers on the board first. The 66ers scored four more runs in the fifth on singles by Eric Padden and Nick Yousefzadeh and a sacrifice fly by Pat Smith, and three in the seventh on doubles by Smith and Patrick Raymond. For Southington, Fernandez added a single to his home run, Ben Hampton chipped in with a single, Smith had three RBI, and Raymond, Yousefzadeh, and Adriano Moura each scored two runs. Shane Fusco, Kyle Daddona, and Nick Farino singled for Valley

Canton Crushers 11   Bristol Greeners 1

Veteran Jimmy Spirito pitched a solid 6 innings allowing 1 run on 3 walking 1 and sticking out 5, canton hitting was lead by second baseman Taylor Riley going 4-5 with a triple and 2 doubles. Jimmy Spirito, James Michanczyk and Jon Scippa all had 3 hits for canton. Zac Bartolome doubled and scored for the Bristol Greeners

Wednesday July 3 schedule:

Blasius Chevrolet 7    Bethlehem Plowboys  0

As the wheels pulled up from the Hotch, after a 4 game home stand, and set down at Gallop Field, home of the long time rival Plowboys, the hope was that the recent pitching would make it through customs. Tim Kennedy (3-0), who finds himself chasing the sudden fame of his roommate Cy Young candidate Will Aldmen, would set Blasius fan’s nerves at ease. Kennedy would give up singles to the first batter in both the first and second inning. After that only a double in the fourth, which would be Bethlehem’s only runner to reach second in the game. For Blasius the offense was lead by former Plowboy and player of the game Jon Conlon (3-4, 2 doubles, 2 runs) and Manny Cruz (2-4 HR). The story for Blasius continues to be the pitching as the staff scoreless streaks grows to 26 innings. During which the stingy pitchers for Blasius have only given up 6 hits! Blasius Chevrolet would like to wish their fans a happy Fourth of July. As well as send a special thanks to the men and women of the armed forces. If not for their sacrifices we would not be able to enjoy the freedoms we have. Blasius is back in action after the holiday to face Tribury on the road at Holy Cross Tuesday at 5:45pm. A great number of former as well as a couple current Blasius boys will feel right at home at the Cross.
