Tri-Town Trojans 11 Canton Crushers 0
Game recap coming soon…
Blasius Chevrolet 10 Naugatuck Dogs 0
Even when things are going well you can always get better. Blasius was riding a 5-game win streak coming into a showdown with long time rivals the Naugatuck Dogs. Given the stretch of good play manager Paul Novakowski noticed the team just wasn’t putting up the runs they expected at home. Now some say don’t mess with a winning streak, but not Novakowski. Looking to make the offense click a change at the top of the order was made. To say the change was affective tonight would be an understatement as the boys where able to put up 9 runs on an always tough Naugy team. Blasius was able to bang out 10 hits. The hit parade was led by Connor Goggins, Manny Cruz, and Jeff Fonti who all had two hits apiece. All those hits lead to 8 different players drive in a run in the game. However, the game was not all about the offense as Blasius starter Tim Kennedy (2-0) pitched a complete game 1 hitter Striking out 11 against only 2 walks. If not for the always tough to deal with Ryan Russel for Naugy singling in the top of the 5th inning Kennedy would have thrown the first no hitter in Blasius history. The win moves Blasius to 7-1 on the season and has them keep pass with the Tri-Town Trojans. The lose drops the Dogs to 6-4. The home stand for Blasius continues Sunday with a double header. Game one is against the Canton Crushers (1-7) at 10am. Game two Blasius welcome the Winsted Whalers (2-5) at 2:30pm. As always, the team and our fans would like to thank our sponsor Blasius Chevrolet. We also hope that you continue to find new roads.
