Wolcott Scrappers 6   Burlington Hunters 5

Wolcott scrappers held off Burlington’s late rally to take the win 6-5 at Lewis mills Hs. For Wolcott Alan Stinson got the win allowing 8 hits, 4 ER and 3 K’s in 5 innings, Mike Pepe came in the last 2 innings to close out the win allowing 2 hits and 3 K’s. Wolcott struck 1st in the second inning when Steve Urbanski led off with a single then stole 2nd, Jesus Garcia walked , and both advanced on a wild pitch, Urbanski then scored on a passed ball and Garcia scored on a fielders choice by Stinson. In the 3rd Wolcott came back out swinging scoring 2 more when jack Drewry reached on an error and then Jeff Nicol drew a walk, both Drewry and Nicol scored when Urbanski belted a dble to right center , followed by a single by Jesus Garcia and then Urbanski tagged up on Tyler Smith sac fly giving Wolcott a 5-0 edge. Burlington came back scoring runs in the 4th , 5th and 7th on hits by Kevin Campbell , Ty Morin and Alex Hansen . Wolcott came back in the top of the 7th to add an insurance run when Brendan Clark tripled and then scored on a Jack Drewry single.
