Tribury Cave 4    Terryville Black Sox 3

It was the Ben Guisto show at Bucks Hill Park late on Tuesday evening and took nine innings to determine a winner between the Cave and Black Sox. Guisto went all nine innings on the hill for Tribury allowing no earned runs. Guisto also had the walkoff RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. John Delucia 3 hits, tom Rinaldi 2 hits for the the Cave win 4-3 victory. Cody Kersky double for Terryville.

Naugatuck Dogs 2    TriTown Trojans 0

Jeff Rustico pitched a complete game shutout allowing 4 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6 to lead Naugy to a 2-0 victory. Devin Murphy got the Dogs on the board with a 2 RBI double in the 1st scoring Ryan Plourde and Kyle Murphy. Miles Scribner pitched a complete game allowing 6 hits while striking out 2 and Austin Patenaude added 3 hits for Tritown.

Bethlehem Plowboys 6   Bristol Greeners 1

Ramon Santiago threw a complete game 11 strikeouts and one earned run and lost a no hitter after 6 2/3 innings in a 6-1 Plow win. Matt Mancini went 2-4 with a 2 run homer, Ricky Descoteaux went 2-4 with 2 doubles and an rbi Joe Fainer and teddy gravel added rbis to aid the plow win.

Litchfield Cowboys 2    Wolcott Scrappers 1

Last night the Cowboys entered the BAW looking to redeem themselves after the error riddled opening day against the Wolcott Scrappers. They started off hot by going 1-2-3 against Brenden Clark, who threw a complete game 13k 2h 3bb. But the cowboys came out in the second with lead off single by Collin Dickinson, 1-3 R, and with a few botched plays and Steve Harrison’s known blinding speed and 2 foot lead at first, drew an errant pickoff throw from Clark that allowed Dickinson to score. The Scrappers responded in the third with a leadoff bunt error by Alan Stinson, 1-3 R 2 SB, that he stretched into a triple after 2 stolen bases and scored on a hard grounder off Harrison’s chest by Jesus Garcia, 2-3 RBI SB. Both pitchers settled and dueled it out until the 6th when Kellen Parkinson led off with a walk, two batters later Eddie Pequignot moved him to second on a single, and after a passed ball moved them into scoring position, Drew Gauvain hit a towering Sac fly to get the go-ahead run in. After Steve Consiglio, 6ip 5k 3h 1bb, put up a 0 in the bottom half of the 6th, the handed it to brooks Belter who proceeded to throw 3 straight balls to the leadoff hitter in the 7th. Luckily he found it and struck the side out to finish the night. Next game for Cowboys is in Amenia Thursday night.

Burlington Hunters 3   Torrington Rebels 0

Thanks to a complete game shut out from Ty Morin (7 innings, 0R, 3H, 4K), the Hunters move to 3-2 on the year. Someone sound the fire alarm because Ryan Roponey is HOT HOT HOT. Raponey (1/1,2BB, 2B, 2R) is now on a 5 game hitting streak. The Hunters were also led offensively by Tamosso Tollis (2/3, 2B, 2RBI, 1R). Jay Pelletier kept a clean book with no erase marks giving Bob “O-Pedic” Hansen a run for his money. Team Player Joe Napolitano made his triumphant return to the bench after landing on the DL and led the team in foul balls retrieved. The Rebels were led by Wyant who went 1/2 at the plate and threw the final 5 innings (3K, 5H, 1BB)
