Trojans took an early lead against Tribury and never looked back. Add another win to the career of Miles Scribner. Scribner went five giving up 0 runs and was relieved by Dan Livingston who pitched 2 shutout innings. Trojans were lead by Shane Bierfeldt, Landon Gardella, and Colin Neller at the plate!
Litchfield Cowboys 11 East Mountain Cougars 1
On an early Saturday morning, Litchfield Cowboys came out on top of East Mountain 11-1. Dan Hedden had his first start of the year going 5 strong striking out 8 and giving up 1 hit and 1 run. Justin Binkowski came in and threw strikes closing out the last 2 innings. The offense was led by all American Ed Pequignot, double and 3 rbis, Steve Consiglio 2 doubles 2rbis, and the Johnson Twins, Tommy and Robbie, both hitting gappers. Litchfield plays at 1 pm vs Tribury Twisters at Bucks Hill Park Sunday.
Winsted Whalers 5 Valley Vikings 3
Devin Warren threw 8 strong innings for Winsted giving up 3 hits and striking out 7. Jeff Negron earned the win in relief (2 innings, 3ks). Valley pitcher Ty Pelletier threw 10 innings keeping Winsted off balance for most of the game. Winsted was led at the plate by; Rick Langer- 2 H, R; Austin Brochu- 3H, RBI; Tim Smith- 2H, RBI; Devin Warren- 2 H, R – Valley was led by; Donny Ek- 2 H, R;Nick Forino- 2b, 2 RBI
Terryville Black Sox 6 Canton Crushers 0
Kenny Kerski dominated the day going seven innings and striking out fourteen batters and also reached base twice to lead the Black Sox to victory. Dave Alarcon closed out the final two innings on the mound. For Terryville, Christian Callahan had 2 RBI’s, Kody Kerski, Ian Schmidt, and Kyle Skidmore all chipped in with RBI’s, Chris Ayer reached base three times. Tom Dubois doubled for Canton.
Naugatuck Dogs 8 Burlington Hunters 1
Jeff Sturm pitched 7 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 7 hits while striking out 9 to lead Naugy to a 9-1 victory over Burlington at Lewis Mills HS. The Dogs offense was lead by Devin Murphy who had a 2 RBI single and a sac fly. Kyle Murphy, Trent Levi, and Ryan Russell all added 2 hits each for Naugy. Mike Morin had 2 hits for Burlington.
Bethlehem Plowboys 8 Amenia Monarchs 1
Ty Erickson complete game win allowing zero earned runs with seven strikeouts and contributed a 2-RBI single at the plate. Clete LoRusso had 2 hits including a home run and double, Matt Tehan and Matt Mancini added 2 RBI’s each.
