Ben Guisto pitched 8 strong innings. Alex rauso had an rbi single and Nate zappone had two hits and a sac fly, while driving in the game winning run scoring mike rosa. Evan DeVico and Mike Rosa contributed with hits.
Burlington Hunters 3 Winsted Whalers 2
The Hunters are streaking! That’s two walkoffs in a row for the boys in baby blue. Thanks to some two out magic, Jay Pelletier dislocates his shoulder after waving Andrew Bunger home for the game winning run off of Ty Morin’s base hit in the bottom of the 7th. Ty Morin also threw a complete game on the mound to earn his second win. Ryan Lavelle went 2-4 and scored the tying run in the bottom of the 7th. Tyler Troth and Zack Martin did a fantastic job riding the bench. Cody Steinberg only fouled one ball off for the Hunters. Bob Hansen had perfect hand writing while keeping the book for the Hunters, with no erase marks. For the Whalers, Austin Brochu started on the mound and tossed seven quality innings. Andrew Billes drove in both runs for Winsted in the top of the 5th.
Naugatuck Dogs 7 Southington 66ers 0
Lance Stevens picked up the win allowing 3 hits and striking out 6 over 5 innings as the Dogs improved to 6-2. Ryan Plourde homered and Jeff Rustico added 2 hits while Trent Levi, Adam Neveski and Sean Miller-Jones each added RBI singles. Tim Jalbert singled and doubled for Southington who fell to 3-5.
