Tonight’s game featured a pitching dual between Steve Consiglio and Gary Novakouski…both pitchers went complete games, the latter striking out 7 and giving up 2 runs on 4 hits while Consiglio gave up 2 hits and 3 strikeouts and a shutout. Consiglio also started things off offensively with an RBI sac fly then followed by Mike Odenwaelder’s solo Homerun the inning after. Eric Rovenetti and Justin McCullough each had hits Blasius while Brooks Belter added 2 hits and 2 stolen bases and Stanley Rijo scored the first run of the game for Litchfield. Next game for the Cowboys is Tuesday June 19th home versus Canton.

Matt Mancini 3-4 with 3 RBI’s, Greg Campbell 2-4 with 2 RBI’s, Clete Lorusso had a 2 RBI triple and Jake Torrence added and 2 RBI double.
Winsted Whalers 10 Canton Crushers 1
Winsted defeats Canton 10-1 on Thursday evening. Winsted was lead by Jeff Negron on the mound. He threw 7 innings and struck out 5 while surrendering only 3 hits and one run. Canton was lead at the plate by Heath Cotton (1-2) and Brian Kulik (2-2). Winsted was lead at the plate by Andrew Billig (2-3, 3R, RBI) and Johnny Lippincott (2-3, R, 2 RBI)
Amenia Monarchs 7 Torrington Rebels 1
Chris Reed pitched 5 innings giving up just 2 hits while striking out 5 to lead Amenia to a 7-1 win over Torrington. Torrington got on the board first with a few infield miscues by the Monarchs. Getting the run right back in the bottom of the first was Leshawn Thrasher(3-4) scoring on a single by Ken Shufelt(2-3 1rbi). Monarchs got the bats going in the 3rd with 5 consecutive hits and 8 total in the inning scoring 6 runs. Cody Lemieux came in relief of Torrington starter Ian Pierce in the 4 and didn’t give up a run. Reeds excellent pitching was backed up by Mackenzie Dunlop who came in relief for the tired Reed throwing two innings striking out 4 of the 6 batters he faced. Monarchs improve to 4-2 on the season.
Naugatuck Dogs 10 Valley Thunder 0
Adam Neveski pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 5 to lead Naugy to a 20-0 win over Valley Thunder at Rotary Field. The Dogs were led by Trent Levi (1-2, HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 3 R) and Jeff Rustico (3-4, 3 RBI, 3 R). Sean Miller-Jones, Ryan Plourde, Kyle Murphy, Devin Murphy, Brendan Slattery, and Ryan Russell all added 2 hits each. Donny Eck doubled for Valley.
