Watertown Blaze 2 Bethlehem Plowboys 1
The Watertown Blaze (8-0) remain undefeated with a hard fought 2-1 win over the Bethlehem Plowboys (6-2). Watertown struck first with a lead off hit-by-pitch and RBI double by Tony Patane in the top of the 1st inning. Bethlehem plated their only run in the bottom of the fifth, after an Aaron Granahan walk. Watertown attempted to turn a double play but Granahan beat the throw to second. Pat O’Neil then hit a flare to right field to score the run. Jesse Darcy pitched well in his first outing of the season going 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and striking out 5. Charlie Benson matched him going 6 2/3, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7. Benson gave way to Matt Quintana who went 2 1/3 striking out 4 and picked up the win. Watertown scored the winning run in the top of the 9th when Matt Calzone was hit by a pitch, then a 2 out error brought Conor McEvoy to the plate who singled up the middle to drive in the winning run.
Winsted Whalers 3 Wolcott Scrappers 2
Ben Schumacher pitched a complete game for Winsted giving up 2 runs by spreading out 9 hits and striking out 7. Schumacher also pitched in with a single, an RBI, a walk and a run scored. Andrew Billig had two hits and a run scored and Devin Warren had two hits and 2 RBIs for Winsted. Jesse Vermach pitched 8 strong innings for Wolcott but gave up 3 runs and took the loss. He struck out 7. Ryan Andrade lead Wolcott with 3 hits and an RBI.
Amenia Monarchs 12 Valley Thunder 0
The Monarchs improved to 5-3 with a win over Valley Thunder 12-0. Colby Dunlop 4ip,1h,7ks and brother Mckenzie Dunlop 3ip,1h,5ks were tough on the Valley Thunders bats. Offensively for Amenia Nick Reilly 1-2 3RBI and Hunter Coulthard 2-4 led the way.
Torrington Rebels 5 Bristol Greeners 0
The Torrington Rebels bounced back Saturday afternoon with a 5-0 win over the Bristol Greeners. Chris Greatorex picked up his third win this season on the mound throwing 8 shutout innings and striking out 11. Chris Beck (2-3, 3B, BB) stayed hot at the plate while Chris McKenna, Austin Patenaude and Nick Yousefzadeh all had hits for the Rebels. Jerry Lapenta pitched 8 strong innings for the Greeners while A.J. Lorenzetti had three hits, including a double. The Rebels will travel to Terryville this Thursday to take on the Blacksox.

Tribury Twisters 4 Canton Crushers 3
Tribury Twisters walked off in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI single by Mike “Little” Rosa. Jeff Cappa singled on an 0-2 count to bring in Mike Besette and tie the game. Later in the inning, Mike Rosa came up with two outs and runners on 2nd and 3rd and delivered the game winning hit. Twisters were led by a complete game win grinded out by Ben Guisto, striking out 7 and only allowing 5 hits. At the plate, Tribury was led at he plate by Jack Dibiase (2 hits, RBI), Mike Rosa (walk off RBI single), Nate Zappone (hit, run scored), Ben Guisto (2 hits) and Jeff Cappa (3 hits, RBI). Guisto picked up his 2nd win of the year and Tribury go to 4-2 on the year while the Canton Crushers fall to 2-7.
Naugatuck Dogs 11 Tri-Town Trojans 3
Tyler Boisvert pitched 6 2/3 innings allowing 3 ER on 7 hits while striking out 6 to lead Naugy over Tritown 11-3 at Community Field. Naugy was up 4-0 going into the bottom of the 7th when Tritown scored 3 runs behind RBI singles from Langston Gardella and Sam Shurberg as well as a bases loaded walk from Kyle Osolin. Naugy answered with 7 runs in the top of the 8th after a leadoff triple by Ryan Plourde who scored on a RBI single by the next hitter Kyle Murphy. Devin Murphy had 3 hits while Macky Cianciolo, Ryan Plourde, and Jeff Rustico all added two hits for the Dogs. Danny McCarty had 3 hits for the Trojans.
Litchfield Cowboys 9 Terryville Black Sox 5
Litchfield Cowboys take the W over the Terryville Blacksox 9-5. Drew Gauvain added two hits and two RBI while Brian Hungerford had an RBI single. Dan Hedden threw 5 innings and took the win for the Cowboys.
