Amenia Monarchs 8 Southington 66ers 6
It was a beautiful night at Doc Bartlett field in Amenia and the fans were treated to an excellent game. The Monarchs scored early on a few few infielder miscues and Travis Hyatt held Southington to 2 runs over 5 innings scattering 6 hits. Hyatt left the game after 5 with the lead 5-2.However in the 6th the Southington bats came alive and with a few Monarch miscues took the lead in the 6th 6-5. The bottom of the 6th the Monarchs were determined and scored 3 runs on a couple hits and a huge double by rookie catcher Andrew Thrasher. Thrasher later scored on a single by Dillon Sartori taking the lead 8-6. Monarchs were led by Chris Reed, Colby Dunlop, Tyler Smith and Dillon Sartori all going 2-3. Southingtons John Mikolpas went 3-3 and Matt Dell’Agnee 2-3.
