Tyler Erickson pitched a complete game three hitter, striking out seven, outdueling Miles Scribner, who struck out eight. Mike Chiovitti hit a two-run home run, Mike Milius went went 3-for-3 with a run scored and Matt Mancini had two hits.
Terryville Black Sox 6 Wolcott Scrappers 1
Terryville scored 5 runs in the top of the first inning and added another run in the third inning. Billy Armstrong went 2-3 with a triple and an RBI while also getting the win throwing five innings with eight strikeouts allowing one run. Zach Dandrea and Kyl Skidmore both added two hits and an RBI for Terryville. Israel Lugo went 2-3 with a double and RBI for Wolcott.
Torrington Rebels 5 Litchfield Cowboys 0
The Torrington Rebels beat the Litchfield Cowboys 5-0 Thursday night at Fuessenich park. Chris Greatorex picked up his second win of the season going the distance with back to back shutout performances. The Rebels took an early 2-0 lead into the 6th inning when veteran Chris Beck ripped a bases loaded double, scoring two. Dan Heddon kept the Rebels bats silent until the 6th, picking up the tough loss for the Cowboys.
Watertown Blaze 5 Naugatuck Dogs 1
Zach Albin, Mike Crimi and Matt Quintana combined to strike out 9 and scatter 2 hits as the Blaze (4-0) won 5-1 over the Naugatuck Dogs (2-1). Nick DeLotto had a 2 RBI single and Conor McEvoy added 2 hits for the Blaze.
Valley Thunder 11 Burlington Hunters 7
The valley thunder got there first win of the 2017 season beating the Burlington Hunters 11-7. Tyler Pelletier pitched a complete game for the thunder striking out 6 allowing 7 runs. It’s was a back and forth battle until the 6th inning when the thunder scored 6 runs behind then hitting of chris puiia (2-4) and donny ek (3-4). For the beavers Cody Stephmon went 2-4 and Andrew Burger went 1-2 with a triple and a walk.
Canton Crushers 5 Waterbury Cougars 2
Canton Crushers beat the Waterbury Cougars 5-2 Thursday night at Bowdoin Field behind a complete game two hitter From pitcher Taylor Riley. Riley struck out 7 and gave up no earned runs. Riley helped him self out hitting a 2 out double in the second inning scoring Mike Zammett from second Zammett had also hit a double, Riley scored later that inning stealing 3rd and scoring on a throwing error. Sean Bahre and Sean Allaire also had hits for Canton. The Cougars had solid Pitching from Starter Ty Campbell who also pitched a complete game striking out 5. AJ Detrillo and Dylan Oakley both had singles for the Cougars.
Tribury Twisters 9 Blasius Chevrolet 7
Zach Goldberg tossed 6 1/3 innings before Ben Brown came in to record the save and end a last inning comeback by Blasius. For the Twisters, Dom Mascola had two RBI’s, jack Dibiase had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Tom Rinaldi had 2 RBI, and Michael Rosa had a suicide squeeze for an RBI.
