Winsted Whalers 11 Bethlehem Plowboys 5
Winsted scored six runs in the first inning and four more in the seventh inning to beat Bethlehem. Robert Weiss pitched a complete game with five strikeouts. Andrew Billing was 3-4 and scored twice. Ricky Langer and Charlie Putnam each had two hits and two runs scored. For Bethlehem Kevin McDonnell had an inside the park 3 run home run in the ninth inning. Winsted improves to 2-1 and Bethlehem falls to 1-1.
Waterbury Cougars 5 Bristol Greeners 0
Mike Bowes pitched a four hitter over seven innings, Justin Proteau drove in two runs and Dylan Oakes had two hits and scored a run as the Waterbury Cougars defeated the Bristol Greeners 5-0. Gil Roy had a triple for the Greeners.
Torrington Rebels 4 Valley Thunder 3
The Torrington Rebels improved to 2-0 on Sunday night beating the Valley Thunder 4-3. Cody Lemieux went the distance for the Rebels picking up his first win of the season. Roberto Santiago (2-4, RBI) singled in Lenyn Napoleon (2-4, 2 SB) in the bottom of the eighth inning with the game winning run. The Thunder battled behind catcher Puia (2-3, HR) and six hits coming up just short in a classic game. The Rebels will host the Litchfield Cowboys next this Thursday 7 p.m. at Fuessenich park.
Watertown Blaze 3 Blasius Chevrolet 1
Charlie Benson went the distance in a gutsy performance, scattering eigth hits to pick up the 3-1 win for the Blaze (3-0). Chris Ayer had three hits, including a double and run scored. Conor McEvoy, Nick DeLotto and Chris Comeau all added two hits. Matt Lyons went eight innings allowing eleven hits and struck out eight for Blasius Chevrolet (0-2). Steve Carosella had two hits for Blasius.
Litchfield Cowboys 8 Burlington Hunters 1
Cowboys take the W 8-1 against the Burlington Hunters. Matt McCarthy threw eight innings and took the win for the Cowboys. Manny Rijo, Mitchell Barnett and Ed Pequignot added RBI’s for Litchfield. Cowboys resume play on Thursday at 7:00pm against the Torrington Rebels at Fussenich Park.
Tri-Town Trojans 7 Canton Crushers 4
Dan Livingston went the distance in his Trojans debut against the Canton Crushers. He struck out ten and only gave up two earned runs in nine innings. Tri-Town scored four runs in the fourth inning. Trojans scored on a single by Joe Bunnell and a double by Casey McDonald. Tri-Town Trojans had nine hits in the game. Joseph Mateo, Joe Bunnell, and Casey McDonald each collected multiple hits for Tri-Town Trojans. Heath Cotton led Canton Crushers with two hits in four at bats.
Naugatuck Dogs 4 Tribury Twisters 3
Tyler Boisvert pitched four innings of relief allowing one hit while striking out seven to pick up the win for Naugy. Brendan Slattery got the Dogs on the board with a 2 RBI double in the fifth inning. Sean Miller-Jones broke a 3-3 tie with a RBI single in the top of the eighth. Jeff Cappa had two RBI for Tribury

Down 3-1, Terryville scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead for good. Dave Alarcon threw 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Southington’s Josh Dobratz (3-4) was finally retired with the tying run on 3rd base in the ninth inning as Billy Armstrong earned the save
