Watertown hurls 2nd straight no-hitter

The Watertown Blaze followed up their perfect game from Wedneaday with a No-hitter Friday night against the Torrington Rebels, improving to 14-0 on the season. They were an error in the fifth inning away from back-to-back perfect games in route to a 12-0 victory. Dom Severino and Matt Quintana combined in the effort to strike out 15 batters over the seven inning contest. On offense the Blaze bats came alive in the fourth inning pounding 7 hits including 4 extra base hits and 8 runs. Mike Mastrocola had 2 hits and 4 RBI while Tony Patane added 2 hits and an RBI. Dom Severino tripled while Chris Ayer, Conor McEvoy and Matt Paola all had RBI doubles. The Rebels fall to 8-4.

Billy Armstrong allowed just a bloop single in the 5th inning as Terryville shutout Southington 4-0. Armstrong threw the complete game finishing with 13 strikeouts and 0 walks. Jake Tehan had an RBI double and Pat Mulcahy had a 2-RBI double. Jake Kawecki threw a complete game for Southington allowing just 3 earned runs. Terryville improves to 11-3 while Southington drops to 6-8.
