At “Doc “Bartlett Field the Monarchs won behind Travis Hyatt and Zach Spencer in relief. Tim Baldwin had 3 hits and Tom Downey 2 hits for Amenia, while Eric Theman had a double and 2 singles for Valley Thunder.
Tri-Town Trojans 9 Winsted Whalers 8
The TriTown Trojans outlasted the Winsted Whalers in a thrilling 14 inning, back and forth game at Community Field on Sunday. The Whalers led by 3 runs heading into the last inning, but the Trojans Steve Price hit a 2-RBI triple followed by a two out RBI single by Kyle Osolin to send the game to extra innings. A pitchers duel ensued between Ben Schumacher and Miles Scribner for the next few innings until the Trojans scored in the bottom of the 14th. Mike Fabiaschi started off with a single, followed by a double by Landon Gardella. Fabiaschi would score off a fielders choice by Steve Price. Seven Trojans had multiple hit days with Connor Murray picking up the win on the mound.
Winsted was led by John Lippincott who had 6 hits, including a homerun, double and 5 RBIs and Ben Schumacher who added 2 hits.
Wolcott Scrappers 3 Terryville Black Sox 2
Zach Sehnal threw a complete game allowing five hits, two unearned runs and struck out three to lead Wolcott. Ryan Soucy (3-5 2 1B, 2B, RBI, R) lead off the second with a double and scored on a Matt Cyr infield single to take a 1-0 lead. Billy Armstrong (3-4 3 1B, RBI, R) tied it with an RBI single in the bottom of the third. Armstrong bunted for a single in the sixth and later scored on an error to take a 2-1 lead. Ryan Andrade (4-5 4 1B, RBI, R) tied the game on a single scoring Clete LoRusso who singled to start the seventh. Ryan Soucy then brought in Andrade with a single to take a 3-2 lead and Wolcott held on thanks to a great double play turned by Andrade on a fly to center and throw to third to catch a tagging runner before the runner from third scored in the fifth. Wolcott improves to 9-3, while Terryville falls to 10-2.
Watertown Blaze 11 Bristol Greeners 1
The Watertown Blaze bats came alive for 19 hits on the way to a 19-1 victory over the Bristol Greeners. Garrett De Letto (3 hits, 5 runs, double, HR, 4 RBI), Chris Ayer (3 hits, 3 runs, triple) and Matt Paola (3 hits, double) paced the offense. Nick De Lotto added 2 hits and 4 RBI while Joe Mercurio, Tony Patane (triple, 4 runs) and Kyle Pelkey also added 2 hits a piece. On the mound, Kyle Kennedy, Tom O’Brien, Brooks Belter and Matt Quintana combined to scatter 4 hits and strikeout 14. AJ Lorenzetti had 2 hits including a double for Bristol. The Blaze improve to 11-0 on the season.
Canton Crushers 9 Burlington Hunters 3

The Canton Crushers exploded for four runs in the fourth and sixth innings to pull away from the Burlington Hunters with a 9-3 Tri-State League victory Sunday at Lewis Mills High. Canton won their second game of the season with a 10-hit attack led by second baseman Jake Bryant, who was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Shortstop Heath Cotton was 2-for-4 with two doubles for the Crushers, now 2-8. Chris Van deBogart had two hits while Jeff Mulhall and Tom Dubois each had singles. Winning pitcher Jim Spirito (1-3) went the distance on the mound, allowing five hits and striking out one.
Cotton’s two-RBI double in the fourth tied the game at 2-2. Cotton scored on Bryant’s RBI double to give Canton a 3-2 advantage. Bryant scored later in the inning on a RBI single from player/manager Tom Dubois to extend the Crusher lead to 4-2. Cotton and Bryant led off the sixth inning for the Crushers with a double and single, respectively and eventually scored. Canton extended its lead to 8-2 with four runs in the inning as Burlington committed three errors and hit two Crusher batters. It was the fifth straight loss for the Hunters, now 1-11.
Canton returns to the diamond on Thursday when they host the Bethlehem Plowboys (10-3) at 5:45 p.m. in the first of five straight games at Bowdoin Field. The Crushers will host Tri-Town on Saturday morning, July 2, at 10 a.m.

Bethlehem bats exploded vs Torrington racking up 15 hits. Aaron Granahan and Eric O’Toole led the way with 3 hits each. Pat O’Neill picked up the complete game win. Giving up only 3 hits and striking out 9.
