The Torrington Rebels improved to 5-0 with a 4-0 victory over the Thomaston Threshers on Monday. Dan Livingston pitched a shutout, retiring the final nine batters in a row. In the first inning, Roberto Santiago singled to drive in Austin Patenaude and Lenyn Napoleon after Nick Yousefzadeh scored on a Greg Bodnar single. Santiago finished with three RBIs. The Rebels played solid defense, including a catch by right fielder Napoleon deep in foul territory and an Adam Fuoco dive at third base for the final out of the game. Thomaston’s starting pitcher Taylor Landry recovered well after the first inning to hold the Rebels close, striking out five. The Rebels play at 7:30 on Thursday at Fuessenich Park against Tri-Town.
