Tri-Town Trojans 14 East Mountain 1
Sam Shurberg and Andrew Osolin pitched a combined 1 hitter with 9 strikeouts as the Trojans defeated the Cougars. Offensively, Mike Fabiaschi had a 2-run homerun and a double, Kyle Osolin had a double and 4 rbis, and Casey McDonald 2 hits and 2 rbis for the Trojans.
Wolcott Scrappers 5 Tri-Town Trojans 1
Zach Sehnal threw a complete game five hitter with five strikeouts to lead Wolcott in a rematch of last years Tri State World Series. Eric Soucy had two hits and an RBI while Ryan Soucy added an RBI single. Sam Shurberg had an RBI double and Casey Macdonald singled and scored. Wolcott 8-7, Tritown 11-5
Wolcott Scrappers 2 Litchfield Cowboys 1
Justin Koutros threw a complete game five hitter with three strikeouts in the second game of a double header for Wolcott. Ryan Andrade had a two out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at one. Kyle Dean and Mike Vaccarelli then followed with singles to give the scrappers a 2-1 lead. Litchfield threatened with guys on the corners with one out in the seventh but grounded into a game ending 4-6-3 double play. Wolcott 9-7 Litchfield 12-4
Terryville Black Sox 10 Bristol Greeners 1
Dave Alarcon threw a complete game 9 inn 15k’s and the Black sox collected 20 hits.
Watertown Blaze 12 Winsted Whalers 3
Andrew Reel picked up the win for the Blaze 12-3, going 6 innings, scattering 8 hits and 6 strikeouts as the Blaze improved to 11-5. DJ Oullette led the offense with 2 hits and 3 RBI. Nick Delotto added 2 hits and 2 RBI and Conor McEvoy 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Justin Lippincott had 2 hits for Winsted.
Naugatuck 10 Brass City Brew 1
Jeff Sturm pitched 7 innings allowing 5 hits while striking out 2 to lead Naugy to a 10-1 victory over Brass City at Rotary Field. The Dogs were led by Jeff Sturm who went 3-4 with 2 SB and a run scored. Devin Murphy, Jeff Rustico, and George Harlamon all had 2 hits with 2 RBI for Naugy. Justin McColloch had a double and a run scored for the Brew.
Burlington Hunters 5 Torrington Rebels 1
Burlington picked up their fifth win against Torrington on Sunday, beating the Rebels 5-1 while on the road. Burlington picked up one run early in the first inning but there was not another run scored until the seventh. Al Hansen took the mound for Burlington throwing 6 scoreless innings while Dan Livingston scattered a number of hits to keep the Hunters from generating any runs.
The 1-0 standoff ended in the seventh inning when Ty Morin hit an RBI double, and ended up scoring himself later that inning to make it a 5-0 ball game. Torrington answered with a solo homerun from Jake Narveson in the bottom half of the inning, but had the remainder of outs turned away by Burlington reliever Spencer Mauro, who earned the save for his three innings of work. The Hunters scrapped together twelve hits thanks to multi-hit games from Matt Dablain, Jeff Maytas, and Joe Napolitano. The Rebels put together five hits thanks to two hit games from Narveson and Jesse Kristy. With the win Burlington advances to 5-10 and Torrington falls to 6-11.
