Monday July 23: Bethlehem Plowboys  4  Litchfield Cowboys 3
Amenia Monarchs 10, Bethlehem Plowboys 8: Josh Wolinski had four hits and four RBI to lead Amenia to a win over Bethlehem in a back-and-forth game at Doc Bartlett Field in Amenia.
Paul Argentina had three hits, including a double, while Ken Shufelt added three hits for Amenia (10-8). The Monarchs stormed ahead 8-5 after a six-run fourth inning, then held on for the victory. Travis Hyatt was the winning pitcher while Andrew Wolinski picked up the save.
Jesse Darcy had three hits and three RBI for Bethlehem (15-3). Pat McGee and Nick Chiovitti each had two hits. Ted Gravel homered and Eric O’Toole doubled for the Plowboys in the loss. Tim Bessette was the losing pitcher. Bethlehem starts Stan Musial State Tournament play on Tuesday in Region 1 at 7:45 p.m. against Chads at Trumbull High School.
Tri-Town Trojans 6, Litchfield Cowboys 2: Andrew Osolin threw a complete game (2 runs, 5 hits, 3 strikeouts, 5 walks) for Tri-Town in a win over crosstown rival Litchfield at Community Field.
On offense, Landon Gardella went 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Trojans. Steve Price (RBI) and Joel Judson (run scored) added two hits apiece. Wayne Brewington (two runs scored) and Casey McDonald each drove in a run for Tri-Town. The Trojans begin Stan Musial play on Tuesday at 7 against Hurt at West Side Park in Wallingford.
Adam Claire drove in two runs while Ben Murhpy had two hits for Litchfield. Kevin Murray took the loss.
Terryville Black Sox 12, Watertown Blaze 11: In another Tri-State slugfest, the teams combined for four triples and two home runs at Watertown’s Deland Field.
For Terryville (9-9), Zack Dandrea had two triples and five RBI before being intentionally walked three straight times. Andrew Trembley added three hits, including a two-run home run. Joe Deming also homered and drove in two runs for the Black Sox, who pounded out 17 hits. Billy Armstrong picked up the victory on the mound.
Kyle Tehan and Chris Comeau each had two hits for Watertown (8-11).
Wolcott Scrappers 3, Waterbury Wild 1: Zach Sehnal continues to have an awesome season for Wolcott.
Sehnal fired a complete game (7 innings because of a Mickey Mantle tournament held at the BAW Complex) and gave up a run on two hits. He struck out seven and walked four. Sehnal improved to 6-1 with a 0.72 ERA. He has given up just 22 hits in 47 innings.
“All year long,” Wolcott head coach Ryan Soucy said of Sehnal’s great pitching. “He just doesn’t miss a spot.”
Ryan Soucy had an RBI triple while Jason Miller added an RBI single for the Scrappers (11-7), who start the Stan Musial play on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Fairfield in a Region 4 game at the BAW.
Darryl Wilson had a hit, two walks and run scored for Waterbury (11-7). Nick Boucher took the loss for the Wild, who start Stan Musial play on Tuesday at 7 in Region 3 against Fedells at Waterville Park.
Winsted Whalers 8, Lakeville Outlaws 1: Winsted scored seven runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull out the win over Lakeville at Walker Field in Winsted.
Ben Schumacker’s bases-clearing double broke the game open. Mike Dew, Joel Castillo and Justin Morhardt each had two hits. Schumacker was also the winning pitcher.
Brandon Coe took the loss for Lakeville.
Torrington Rebels 8, Bristol Greeners 2: Dan Livingston was the complete-game winner for Torrington against Bristol in a game played at Bristol Central High School.
Livigstone gave up two unearned runs on eight hits. He got plenty of help from his offense as every batter had at least one hit. Cody Santore had a double and three RBI while Angelo Calabrese added a triple, RBI and run scored. Greg Bodnar tripled, walked and scored twice while Bryan Failla had a triple, walk, RBI and run scored.
Tim Georgen and Dave Casanova each had two hits for Bristol.
Brass City Brew 6, Prospect Chargers 2: Justin McCulloch had a hit, three RBI, a walk, and a run scored to lead Brass City to a win over Prospect.
Gary Miller had a hit, RBI, run scored, stolen base and a walk for the Brew (11-8) in the win. Jeff Fonti added a hit and RBI. Eric Gormley gave up one run on six hits over the first five innings to pick up the victory.
John Artes went 2-for-4 with a run batted in while Spenser Griffin added a double, RBI and run scored for Prospect (1-17). Artes picked up the loss.

Zarhonasky threw a shutout allowing 6 hits and 5 strikeouts.

Ansonia Valley Viking swept the Burlington Hunters

Taylor Searles got win in releaf of Ryan Genua. Ansonia had 11 hits, Brandon Spaolino had the big hit in the top of the seventh to break a 5-5 tie. Chris Jeanette followed with a 2 run double for insurance.
 
Game2  5-3
Ryan Skelly pitched a complete game and Chris Jeanette had 2 hits. Haydu hit a sac fly in 6th to put Ansonia ahead to stay.
