Waterbury was led by Ken Kerski on the mound tossing a complete game allowing six hits with seventeen strikeouts, Jack Dibiase had four hits Fraz Kadar had two and Brad DeVito added and RBI triple. Tim Collins had two hits for Thomaston.
Winsted Whalers 10 Burlington Hunters 6
Darrin Gould went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and Chester Warner 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Winsted. Chance Rueger was 2-for-4 with a triple. D.J. Reese, out of retirement, went 1-for-1 and made a run-saving sliding catch in the eighth inning. Charlie Putnam went the distance for the win for Winsted. Steve Webb was 4-for-4 with a home run and three runs scored for Burlington.
Watertown Blaze 8 Lakeville Outlaws 4
Chris Ayer had four hits, including a double and scored three runs for Watertown. Chris Comeau added two hits, including a triple and drove in two runs. Connor McEvoy had a double and three RBIs and Jim Caporale pitched six innings of relief to pick up the win for Watertown. Jed Coe had two hits for Lakeville.
Litchfield Cowboys 9 Prospect Chargers 2
Litchfield improved to 12-1 as Adam Claire was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Mike Oldenwalder was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs and Karl Quift was 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs. Quinn McKenna struck out five in four innings for Litchfield, with Eric Hungerford striking out one in two innings of relief. John Artes (1-2, double, RBI) and Chris Valenti (1-2 double, RBI) led Prospect.
Ansonia Valley Vikings 6 Wolcott Scrappers 3
Ryan Skelly picked up the win on the mound with Jonathon Haydu getting the save. Eric Christianson had the key hit for the Vikings with a two-run double.
Bethlehem Plowboys 9 Amenia Monarchs 2
Tyler Erickson had 10 K’s in a game shortened by rain in the seventh inning as the Plowboys improved to 12-1. Aaron Granahan had two hits and 3 RBI for the Plow while Matt hosier homered for Amenia.
Tri-Town Trojans 3 Terryville Black Sox 0
Miles Scribner outdueled Billy Armstrong as the Trojans picked up the 3-0 victory. Joel Judson homered while John Callahan and Jon Smart added two hits each for Tri-Town. Joe Deming, Kevin LaRosa, and Zach Dandrea had the only 3 hits Scirbner allowed to Terryville.
Tri-Town Trojans 10 Prospect Chargers 1
Wayne Brewington, Kyle Save, and Jon Smart all doubled for Tri-Town and Connor Murray picked up the win as Tri-Town knocked off Prospect. Kyle Osolin added 3 hits for Tri-Town who swepted their double-header on Sunday while Dan Gugliotti had two hits including a double for Prospect.
Brass City Brew 6 Naugatuck Dogs 5: (10 innings)
Mike Veronneau’s double knocked in Gary Novakowski with the winning run in the top of the 10th at Naugatuck High. Veronneau had three hits and Steve Carosella and Jeff Fonti had two hits each for the Brew (7-6). Novakowski picked up the win in relief. Devin Murphy homered for Naugy (9-3).

Burlington Hunters 8 Terryville Black Sox 7
Steve Webb has been swinging a hot bat recently for the Burlington Hunters in the Tri-State Baseball League. Webb went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a triple in a 16-4 win over the Watertown Blaze on Friday evening. On Saturday afternoon, Webb went 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBI and two runs scored as Burlington held off the Terryville Black Sox 8-7 at Lewis Mills High School. “The kid’s just killing it,” Hunter head coach Pat Flynn said. “I mean line drives everywhere.” Tommy Spirito, who is one of Burlington’s best pitchers, did it with the bat on Saturday. Spirito went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. “He’s usually a pitcher for us, but he’s been swinging the bat well,” Flynn said.
Flynn also had a good day for Burlington (7-4), going 2-for-3 with a run batted in and two runs scored. Sean Shanley and Colin Tack also drove in a run for the Hunters. Burlington starter Alex Hansen tossed the first six innings for the win. He gave up four runs on five hits and struck out eight while walking two. Terryville (5-5) cut Burlington’s lead from 8-4 to 8-7 in the top of the seventh inning before Andrew Bunger got Pat Norton to ground out with runners on first and second to end the game. Tom Notchick went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored for the Black Sox. Joe Deming doubled, drove in run and scored a run while Zack Dandrea also drove in a run. Deming took the loss.
Watertown Blaze 5 Tri-Town Trojans 3
Conor McEvoy doubled and drove in four runs to lead Watertown to a win over Tri-Town at Community Field in Litchfield. Mike Mastrocola added a single and RBI while Chris Ayer scored twice for the Blaze (3-8). Jay Spear threw a complete game and gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits. Spear struck out nine and walked four. Joel Judson and John Callahan each had two hits for the Trojans (5-6). Steve Price had a hit and RBI while Matt Calzone added a run batted in. Callahan took the loss for Tri-Town.
