Burlington Hunters 16 Watertown Blaze 4
The Burlington Hunters pounded out 14 hits in a 16-4 win over the Watertown Blaze in a Tri-State Baseball League game on Friday evening at Lewis Mills High School. Burlington’s Steve Webb had a career day, leading the Hunters with four hits of his own (4-for-4 with a walk), including a triple, 2 doubles, 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. The Hunter’s took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, then pounded out 5 hits in the second, including a 2-run double by Webb and another by Adam Peters (4-for-5, 5 RBI). Steven Popp also cashed in for the night with 2 hits and 2 RBI. Burlington starter Tommy Spirito took the win. The Hunters are 6-4. Watertown is 2-8.
Waterbury Wild 5 Ansonia Valley Vikings 1
Waterbury’s Nick Boucher fired a complete game in a win at Waterville Park. Boucher gave up a run on four hits and struck out seven. Darryl Wilson had two hits while Brad DeVito added a triple and run scored for the Wild (7-5). Chris Chieffo tripled for Ansonia.
