Wolcott Scrappers 2 Naugatuck Dogs 1 (8 innings)
The Scrappers beat the Dogs in walk-off fashion at the BAW Complex Thursday night. Adam LaCapra singled with two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the eighth, followed by three straight walks by Mike Vaccarelli, Pierre Lepage and Ismael Bolorin to give Wolcott a 2-1 win over Naugatuck. Wolcott ace Zach Sehnal brought a no-hitter into the seventh inning with his team up 1-0, but the Dogs tied it when Jeff Sturm was hit by a pitch, stole second and scampered home on a Sean Miller-Jones RBI double. In the top of the eighth, Sehnal avoided grave danger. Naugy loaded the bases with nobody out, but Sehnal was able to induce a failed suicide squeeze, a groundout and a strikeout to get out of the inning unscathed. It was the second start of the year for Sehnal, who tossed nine innings of 11-strikeout, one-hit ball against Terryville on Sunday. He’s now struck out 17 and given up just three hits in 17 innings of work this summer. Wolcott (2-2) visits Waterbury this Sunday at 4 p.m., while Naugatuck (4-1) hosts Amenia at 6 p.m.
Bethlehem Plowboys 4, Lakeville Outlaws 0

Lakeville (0-5) hosts Ansonia on Saturday at 1 p.m. Bethlehem visits Bristol on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Amenia Monarchs 4, Thomaston Threshers 2
Andrew Wolinski gave up no earned runs in a complete-game effort as the Monarchs topped the Threshers. Dave Mosher collected two hits and two RBIs for Amenia (3-2), while Steve Lynehan also added two hits. Scott Bellamere and Will Spirotnik each had singles for Thomaston (0-5). Both teams play Sunday, as Thomaston visits Terryville at 4 p.m., while Amenia travels to Naugatuck at 6 p.m.

Bristol Greeners 5 Brass City Brew 3
Geoff Pierce went 6 strong innings Thursday night against Brass City Brew scattering just 2 hits and striking out seven before giving way to Bryan Wyrebek who picked up his second save of the season striking out the side in the seventh. Kellen Croce (4 1/3 IP), Gary Novakowski (1 2/3 IP), and Aaron McCollogh (1 IP) pitched well for the Brew allowing just 6 hits and combining for 8 strikeouts.
