Burlington Hunters 9 Lakeville Outlaws 0
Alex Hansen scattered two hits and struck out six over five innings as the Hunters cruised to a 9-0 win over the Outlaws. Justin Campbell went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to pace Burlington (3-0), while Steven Popp had a double and a triple. Mike Morin, Adam Peters and Jimmy Spirito also added two hits each. Josh Morey and Billy Manzi had doubles for Lakeville (0-3).
Bristol Greeners 3 Winsted Whalers 1
Mat Niedzwiecki picked up his second victory of the season, allowing just one run while fanning seven and scattering five hits in a complete-game effort for the Greeners. Jimmy Hahn went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Bristol (3-1) along with Tim Georgen, Dan Rosa, Matt Godbout, and Brendan Hayes who each collected base hits. Chester Warner and Mike Dew collected doubles for Winsted (1-2). Charlie Putnam pitched 5 solid innings for Winsted scattering just four hits and allowing 2 runs before giving way to Adam Piechowski who finished the game for the Whalers.
Bethlehem Plowboys 6 Brass City Brew 3
Jason Krajeski gave up no earned runs and struck out seven in a complete-game gem for the Plowboys in Waterbury. John Conlin had a two-run single in the first inning for Bethlehem (2-1). Steve Carosella and Paul Novakowski each had a pair of hits for Brass City (2-1).
Amenia Monarchs 5 Torrington Rebels 4 (8 innings)
Zach Spencer got the win for Amenia in relief. Caleb Huff led Amenia with a homerun, double and 3 RBI’s. Also for Amenia Tom Downey and Matt Hosier hit doubles. For Torrington Conor Bierfeldt had a triple and Nick Ross had 3 hits. Amenia raises its record to 2 -1 while Torrington falls to 1 – 2.
Tri-Town Trojans 10 Thomaston Threshers 1
Joel Judson hit two two-run doubles and Miles Scribner pitched a four-hitter with six strikeouts for the Trojans at Community Field. Rob McHugh doubled for the Threshers.
Naugatuck Dogs 8 Litchfield Cowboys 4
Jeff Sturm pitched a complete game with nine strikeouts, two walks and only six hits for the Naugy Dogs (3-0) at Rotary Field. Shawn Miller-Jones led the attack with four hits and two RBI, and Jamie Kimberly had two doubles and two RBI. Chris Blazek hit a two-run home run for the Cowboys (2-1).
