Torrington Rebels 1 Prospect Homers 0
Miguel Gonzalez’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth was the only run in the Rebels’ 1-0 win over the Homers Saturday afternoon at Fuessenich Park. Cody Santore led off the fifth with a double off Prospect starter Sean Myers (6 innings, 5 hits), before Gonzalez came through with the game-clinching hit. Dan Livingston pitched a complete game shutout for Torrington, giving up just three hits while striking out a trio of Homers, using an effective mix of a fastball, curve and changeup. Angelo Calabrese, the only player with multiple hits in the game, went 2-for-2 for the Rebels. Torrington is now 7-9 on the season. The Rebels’ next game is on Friday against Terryville at Fuessenich Park at 7 p.m.
